"When you think of me, you should think of fire": Ana de Armas channels lethal killer energy in the new Ballerina trailer
Lionsgate has just dropped the final trailer of Ballerina, and we witness Ana de Armas channeling killer energy.
The trailer begins with a voiceover of Ana de Armas as Eve Macarro. This line keeps repeating many times throughout the trailer. The full line is:
"When you think of me, you should think of fire. Risen from the ashes, again and again"
In the beginning of the trailer, Eve's past as a ballerina is established as we see a showpiece with a rotating toy ballerina. The trailer is filled with Ana de Armas in multiple high staking action sequences, with fire blazing scenes as well as high powered combat scenes in different places ranging from harsh, snow-covered regions to groovy nightclubs!
Throughout the trailer, we see glimpes of Gabriel Byrne, Norman Reedus and Keanu Reeves. In this film, Eve Macarro and Reeves's John Wick are clashing, and it shall be compelling to watch the two deadly assassins' tussle. It shall also be interesting to witness how their relationship evolves, as Eve Macarro too, like John Wick, got into the shoes of an assassin after experiencing deep, personal loss.
Norman Reedus's character, Daniel Pine, informs Eve about the whereabouts of the people she is looking for, revealing that they are surrounding a particular hotel. Eve seems to conflict with Gabriel Byrne's character, the Chancellor, who says to Eve:
"You don't choose to be a killer, you are chosen"
Upon which, Eve responds angrily:
"No! I chose this!"
We proceed to catch a glimpse of the most anticipated scene, Eve and John Wick coming face to face. They engage in a fight scene where Eve attempts to shoot John Wick with her gun.
There's a slight tease about Ana de Armas's character's name toward the end of the trailer, when we witness the late actor Lance Reddick for the last time on screen as he returns in the role of Charon. The name is not revealed in the trailer, though. In the trailer, Charon asks Eve:
"And what, may I ask, is your name?"
Toward the end, we witness a wounded and exasperated Eve standing in front of a mirror, with a blade gushed on her shoulder. In the background, the line: "When you think of me..", is playing.
Ballerina is helmed by Len Wiseman, with the script penned by Shay Hatten. It is set to make its release on June 6, 2025.
