What is Death of a Unicorn about?

The film follows a father-daughter duo who are on a vacation. Paul Rudd's Elliot is at his boss's estate and is trying to impress him for work-related favors. However, things start to get interesting when Elliot hits a baby unicorn with his car and eventually kills it.
The film then reveals a side of Unicorns you may never have imagined. Traditionally, these mythical creatures are known to be angelic, but in the film, following the road accident, the unicorns become a definition of horror. They want revenge for what the humans have done to their kin. Not just wounding it, but what the humans do to the baby unicorn later is shocking, too.
This vacation then slowly turns into a nightmare but, rest assured, Elliot and his daughter are saved. A reason the creatures don't kill Elliot is that he has a change of heart.
The message Death of a Unicorn wants to give is that materialism is killing life as we know it, and a large number of people with a capitalist mindset will stop at nothing until they gain something.
