Does Ben die in The Woman in Cabin 10? Character’s fate explored

The world (read society) doesn't simply believe the ones working truthfully, and that is one takeaway the viewers will get in Netflix's latest film, The Woman in Cabin 10. Simon Stone directed it, and Keira Knightley leads the story as Laura "Lo" Blacklock.

She is simply doing her work as a journalist and comes across an incident that she tells people about, but no one believes her. Among them is Ben (David Ajala), her ex-boyfriend, who is invited to an event on a superyacht called Aurora Borealis.

Ben is actually torn apart between believing her and not believing her. But the curtain on the truth is pulled eventually. However, Ben doesn't live to see this revelation. He dies during a confrontation on the vessel.

The film is based on the book of the same name by Ruth Ware, who told Netflix's Tudum about the lead character that,

"Cabin 10, at its heart, is about a woman who experiences something wrong, reports it truthfully, and isn’t taken seriously because of who she is. oo many people know what that feels like and I think we want vindication for ourselves as much as Lo."

While the book has fairly positive reviews, if we look at its Goodreads rating, which is 3.73 out of 5 stars, based on over 738k ratings, the film didn't sit well with critics and audiences alike on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes. Its Tomatometer is at 27%, and Popcornmeter is at 34%.

How did Ben die in The Woman in Cabin 10?

Ben dies in a confrontation where Keira Knightley's Lo was intended to be murdered in The Woman in Cabin 10. Doctor Mehta (Art Malik) and Captain John Addis (John Macmillan) are trying to kill Lo while she is in a library, as she finds the truth about the mystery, but thankfully, Ben intervenes.

He can save Lo in The Woman in Cabin 10 but fails to safeguard himself. A lethal injection that was intended to be given to Lo is stabbed into him, which takes his life.

What happens to Lo after this?

Lo survives the attack by abandoning the ship in The Woman in Cabin 10. However, you know how journalists can be. She wants to uncover the truth and returns secretly to the event to reveal what she has discovered.

Thankfully, she does that and tells the world the false scheme the main antagonist of the film was planning throughout this story. However, there's a bit of drama as the antagonist tries to take someone hostage at knifepoint. But thanks to some teamwork, the antagonist is brought down.

You have to see the film to know who the antagonist was here. That is why we tried to keep it a mystery, so some mystery remains in the story. The woman in cabin 10 is revealed, too, and while she will appear as the main antagonist, she's (let us reveal just one more mystery) not.
