Jo Frost, who is best known for her role in Supernanny, has opened up about her life-threatening medical diagnosis.

As per a report in People magazine, the reality TV star took to her Instagram to reveal that she has anaphylaxis. In the video, she gives details about her medical condition, urging others to help people who may be suffering from a similar condition. In the clip, Frost said:

"I’ve survived more anaphylactic shocks than I’m prepared to go into detail about right now. I have anaphylaxis, a life-threatening medical condition to certain foods that will compromise my body so horrifically to the point of hospitalization.”

Jo Frost’s recent diagnosis has brought attention to her family as she continues to battle the disease. She does not have children of her own. In a 2020 interview with OK! Magazine, Frost admitted that she and her husband, Darrin Jackson, were "never in a space" to decide to have children.

In her reality show, Supernanny Jo Frost helped families to address a wide range of parenting issues like lack of discipline, controlling behavior, sleep separation, and bedtime routine. Her show gained popularity in the early 2000s. The US version of the show was aired on ABC from 2004 to 2012, per a report in the New York Post.

The 55-year-old was raised in London. Her father, Michael Frost, was a builder and painter. Her mother, Joan Frost, was an interior designer who passed away from breast cancer, according to People magazine.

Frost worked as a nanny for 15 years before she applied to star in the original British version of Supernanny, which premiered in 2004 and was an instant success. After leaving the show in 2011, Jo Frost married her longtime partner Darrin Jackson in the same year.

During an interview, Frost spoke about her husband. She said:

“[He] really understood my work and wanted to be a part of it. He’s a man who thrives in the camaraderie of it all and in being able to help, so it made things very easy in that respect.”

Distractify reported that Frost and Jackson met while working on Supernanny. He was the production coordinator. In another interview with The Daily Mail, Jo Frost said:

“I'm so happy with him. We've known each other for a long time and he’s supportive and 'gets' the work I do. I love being with him and hanging out and doing things together – I'm just really enjoying it. When I'm rushing around here, there and everywhere, he's very much a strong support for me.”

Besides Supernanny, Jackson has coordinated on Real Chance of Love, Rock of Love with Bret Michaels, and The Cho Show. The report said that she was first noticed wearing her wedding ring in 2016.

Although her career revolved around kids, Jo Frost never had them with her husband. However, earlier she had expressed willingness to adopt children who are in need of “loving homes”.

Her official website stated that currently she works as a parenting coach and provides online and in-person classes.
