Does Nick die in Zootopia 2? Character's fate, revealed

Zootopia 2 brings us a bigger and more sinister plot as the story continues with Judy (Ginnifer Goodwin) and Nick (Jason Bateman) now working together for the police department.

However, they are still a mismatch that would require partners therapy sessions, as their chief suggested. They need this to work together, which is apparently not quite possible at first.

The film also brings reptiles into the mix. Residents of this world don't like them because of something that transpired in the past. But they don't really know the truth and when it is revealed, it turns out that the people running the city and the ones everyone trusts are the most corrupt.

To reveal all these secrets, Nick and Judy dive deeper, but they struggle to stick together because of their differences. Both of them almost die in the movie, but rest assured, both Nick and Judy are safe by the end of Zootopia 2.

Nick fights Pawbert near a cliff in Zootopia 2

When everything comes to light, the real culprits of the movie, who are the lynxes, Nick fights Pawbert Lymxley (Andy Samberg) near a cliff. Nick is trying to secure this pen that holds a cure to a poison Judy was injected with by the lynx.

During the fight, this pen gets out of reach from Nick but he manages to throw it Judy and Gary De'Snake's (Ke Huy Quan) way, who then saves her. However, both the fighters fall from the cliff, and, for a moment, it seems like we have lost Judy's partner.

To the fans' relief, that doesn't happen, as Judy saves Nick and all is well at the end. This is also the moment when they finally realize that they can actually work together and both belong to the same pack, despite Judy being a rabbit and Nick being a fox.

Interestingly, nobody dies in Zootopia 2, not even the lynx who was trying to disguise himself as one of them before he finally betrayed everyone. Everything comes to light and the lynxes are revealed to be the main antagonists.

Not just that, reptiles also return to the land with other animals as they are revealed to be harmless and true founders of Zootopia.

Judy and Nick aren't just ZPD partners now

While this may sound like they are separated in Zootopia 2, it is not the case. After the main events of Zootopia 2, Nick and Judy meet again and the former gives her a fixed carrot pen, which was broken during one of their arguments.

This is the scene where Nick confesses he loves her, and she uses that pen to record it. From here, they aren't simply ZPD partners but probably life partners if the story continues.

As of this writing, there aren't any official statements about the third Zootopia film, but it is likely that we will see the story continue considering the movie's post-credit scene where a mysterious feather lands on a building she lives in.
