Head transplants are often unsuccessful, but the one in Dog Man becomes not only successful but also gives us the titular Dog Man. It is a story about a hybrid being that was once two separate beings, a dog named Greg and a human named Knight. Both work for Ohkay City's police department.

However, a task goes wrong, and both are fatally injured. Now the only possible way is to take Knight's body and Greg's head and stitch them together, which is exactly what the medical personnel of the city's hospital do. Though we have two souls saved, this new being has the brain of a dog, which makes this new hybrid being more fun to watch.

But he is not the only one that's fun to watch; a range of actors have given voices to the characters we see in there. The voice actor behind the film's antagonist is someone you usually see enjoying Saturday Night Live skits. More of them are there, and we will look at them in this list now.

The writer and the director behind the film, Peter Hastings, is also the titular Dog Man in it. He doesn't have dialogues as this interesting hybrid, being only howls in excitement.

Pete Davidson as Petey

The cool guy Chad, portrayed by Pete Davidson on SNL, is an evil cat called Petey here. While he is one troublemaker, he eventually leaves all his evil deeds behind after certain events. Interestingly, he has a son, and he shares his custody with our hybrid protagonist.

Ricky Gervais as Flippy

Talking of antagonists, the true evil in this story is a fish called Flippy, which After Life's Ricky Gervais portrays. It's safe to say there's something fishy about this flapping antagonist who tries to send Petey down a live volcano.

Stephen Root as Grampa

Petey has a family, too, called Grampa, and Stephen Root plays the character in the film. Petey's son, Li'l Petey, calls him that. It's a father's duty to berate his kin if he isn't on the right path, which Grampa does with Petey effectively.

Lucas Hopkins Calderon as Li'l Petey

You see the kid talking to Grampa in the image in the previous section? Well, that's Li'l Petey for you. He is the result of Petey cloning himself after he fired his assistant. Although this kid was supposed to be an evildoer like him, he turns out to be an innocent one.

Isla Fisher as Sarah Hatoff

Every region has at least one dedicated journalist covering the events happening around it. In Dog Man's Ohkay City, it's Sarah Hatoff, whom Isla Fisher plays.

Other voice actors in the film

While these are the major characters in the film, there are more. Like The Lord of the Rings, Billy Boyd is Sarah's cameraman, Seamus (capturing Sarah in the image above), comedian Lil Rel Howery is the Chief, and more.
