Michael Pearce's Echo Valley has some twists and turns, but what steals the show is when Julianne Moore's Kate shows a boy that they should never underestimate people who have lived a life. While she is already dealing with a few things in her life, her daughter brings more chaos to her.
Sydney Sweeney plays her daughter Claire, who is on the lookout for some money, like $10k, because she accidentally threw drugs worth that amount in water. Now she wants her mother to help her and does a trick that prompts Kate to put that money on the table.
But greed can cause one's life to turn into hell, and one of Claire's acquaintances, Jackie (Domhnall Gleeson), felt that. While watching the movie, you will feel how evil this person is, but then Kate turns the tables, and Jackie ends up in jail instead. He was being set up, and he didn't even realize it.
How did Jackie think he was winning in Echo Valley?

Domhnall Gleeson has played one intelligent, adventurous, and kind Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter series, but he was too overconfident in Echo Valley. But he certainly is adventurous in it.
So Claire is seeking funds from her momma, but she fails to get them initially. So she turns up at her door with a dead body, and now, as a mother, Kate decides to help her dump this body. However, after helping her, Kate didn't realize that Jackie was planning on pulling more than just $10k by leveraging their secret.
Now Jackie wants Kate to burn down her barn, make it look like it was an accident, and whatever money she receives for her damages needs to be transferred to his account only.
He has made all kinds of arrangements so that she cannot go to the police, and now he is just waiting for that insurance tap to start running and throw the money at his feet.
However, he is too overconfident and doesn't realize that Kate has lived long enough to teach kids like him a perfect lesson.
What's actually happening in Echo Valley?

While Domhnall Gleeson's Jackie is clearly winning here, Kate joins hands with her friend, Leslie (Fiona Shaw), and brings that body she had dumped back in the game. With this body comes some hay she is about to lay in the barn.
She places the body in a freezer first and arranges a flare. Though she could have bought one, Jackie is sort of keeping her as a hostage in her own house. So he brought the flare himself, as he thought letting Kate go might be a bad choice. She might seek help, right?
Now the time has come to burn the barn, and Kate uses that flare gun to do that. The overconfident Jackie sees it burning and walks away. This is where all the tables were turned. As soon as he went away, Leslie placed that dead body in the burning barn.
Authorities investigate, and Jackie becomes the prime suspect as he was living there. The flare gun he bought from the store captures him in CCTV footage, and one of Kate's clients had seen him living there, which convinces investigators that he killed that "body."
