Towards the end of Eenie Meanie, John and Edie decide to give the heist money to Nico's henchmen. During the exchange, John shoots them dead in a fit of rage. Edie asks why he killed the two. John tells her that they should take the money and go somewhere to start afresh.

However, Edie does not want that kind of life and prefers stability. He realizes that he has messed up and asks for forgiveness. Edie tries to comfort a grieving John, but then pulls out her gun and shoots him dead. She then meets Nico to give him the money. Nico tells her that she did the right thing, as he would have tortured and killed Edie himself.

Nico tells her about George, who has been stealing money from him. As Edie is leaving, she hears gunshots. George has been killed by Nico, similar to how she killed John. Both of them have killed the people they loved because of their situation.

Later, Edie decides to leave the world of crime and starts an automobile repair centre. She is taking care of her and John's child, and her friend is helping her with it. Eenie Meanie ends with the family enjoying a dinner on Christmas.

Samara Weaving, who plays the protagonist Edie, spoke to Decider about the film's ending. She emphasized that John's death was always a part of the story, saying,

"That was always there. I don’t know, maybe Sean wrote a different version. I think it’s something that is so shocking, but if we think of this as the extreme toxic relationship, it’s almost something, metaphorically, that you have to do if you’re dealing with that on a smaller scale. You have to kill the relationship in order to move on. There’s no happy medium of, “I’ll stay in their lives, kind of.” Metaphorically, it makes a lot of sense."

She further spoke about how the protagonist sets herself free from her emotionally unavailable boyfriend.

"As women, this culture and society has definitely brainwashed us to not put ourselves first all the time, and be caregivers and help support other people."
