In a Screen Rant interview, Samara Weaving spoke about her character of Edie. She said:
“She’s so tough and funny and gritty,” Weaving said, adding, “Shawn just wrote such a great character; I fell in love with her on the page. I think she almost is the audience’s perspective in the movie. She just encounters all these insane people and [she’s] trying to make the right choice … I was just excited to do it.”
In the same interview, the actress revealed that she lied to the makers to get the role. Once she bagged the film, Weaving got herself enrolled in a driving school to quickly learn the skill.
This was mainly needed because there were elaborate scenes of Ed driving a vehicle at full speed, as the character is a getaway driver. Weaving is known for her performance in the horror films Ready or Not and Scream VI. She has also appeared in 2017's Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
Eenie Meanie is streaming on Hulu.
