Elizabeth Dulau sat down for an up-close and personal interview with The Hollywood Reporter on May 14, 2025. Dulau, who plays Kleya Marki on Andor, talked about her standout moments in the series and how she believed it affected the lore in the Star Wars franchise.

The actress referred to the tenth episode of the second season, "Make It Stop," in which her character had to kill Luthen, played by Stellan Skarsgård, in his hospital room. Dulau delivered a monologue in that scene that established her character as one to look out for.

Elizabeth Dulau revealed that she was nervous about the monologue because it was significant for her character and the franchise.

“[That monologue] has always been there in the background. I was super nervous because it felt like the entire filming process was leading up to that day. I always had it in my mind and deliberately tried not to overthink it."

Elizabeth Dulau felt grateful that Tony Gilroy, the creator of the Andor series, had shown faith:

“It’s not lost on me that Tony Gilroy has literally written me into Star Wars history that dates back to the ‘70s. My mom and dad queued up at midnight to watch A New Hope.”

Elizabeth Dulau wants to “do justice” to the breakthrough role given to her

Dulau’s character provides a backstory to the critically acclaimed 1977 Star Wars movie Star Wars: A New Hope. She expressed that she was grateful to Gilroy for making her a key player in the Star Wars universe:

"I’m just so grateful that Tony would hand me that domino. I really didn’t want to fu** it up. I really wanted to do justice to this opportunity that he’s given me.”

Elizabeth Dulau also worked closely with film legend Stellan Skarsgård. She shared that Skarsgård made her feel comfortable during their time working together. She added that working with him felt like meeting an old friend, and she was never intimidated by his star power:

"You just forget that he’s the legend Stellan Skarsgård. He really makes you feel at ease, and after just those ten minutes with him, I really felt like I was walking in the room with a friend, with someone who had my back and was there for me."

The Andor series provides Star Wars fans with a closer understanding of the early stages of the rebellion against the Galactic Empire and the forces that influenced the civil war. The second season premiered on April 22, 2025, and airs on Disney+.
