The first major television addition to the MCU (superhero drama) is WandaVision, released in January 2021 on Disney+. It is structured like an out-of-date sitcom and reaches the heart.
Wanda Maximoff, a highly powerful Avenger, is one of the main characters of the series; her sorrow alters reality, transforming a small town into a surreal world where love and loss coexist.
Elizabeth Olsen had confirmed her desire to reappear as the Scarlet Witch, and, speaking to InStyle, she claims that she would jump at the opportunity, which is a sign of a fiery reprise that the audience has long been waiting to see.
"I’d jump at the opportunity" to play Scarlet Witch again in the MCU."
Elizabeth Olsen and the Magic of the MCU
Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) could be termed as far beyond a film franchise since it is a cultural phenomenon that has permeated world discourse. Since the release of Iron Man in 2008, it has created a networked universe of heroes, villains and gods, which gave actors like Elizabeth Olsen an opportunity to star in richly developed characters with depth and nuance within a context of high-stakes action and visual effects.
Olsen explained that whenever visiting the set was enjoyable, it made the movies more fun. She described it as goofy and ridiculous, noting that despite being grown-ups, they felt like children in a playground, flying and throwing things around. She emphasized that playing Wanda didn’t feel like a typical job; rather, it was like a reunion with one of her favorite people, someone she had been growing up with for the past decade.
“Making the films are fun. Goofy. It’s ridiculous. We’re grown people like children on a playground. We’re flying. We’re shooting things out of our hands. And it’s a character that I’ve gotten to return to so many times after over 10 years. It’s good to put her down and then I miss her and I want her back," she told InStyle.
She does not simply appreciate acting. Olsen feeds on the back-stage magic that renders the Marvel movies marvelous - stunts and camera work, and visual effects. It entails hundreds of hundreds of people on set, and they all have one thing in mind as she explained.
According to Olsen, it is thanks to this creativity and unity that the MCU possesses a certain level of specialty. It is not just superheroes but the collaboration, passion, and purpose. It is not merely a career choice for her to be back as Scarlet Witch, but rather a visit home to a world that she had a hand in creating.
The Future of Scarlet Witch
Though Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness did not clarify the fate of Wanda, the audience is convinced that Scarlet Witch is not over. The subsequent phases of Marvel are still in the multiverse, and the possibilities of her being featured again can be unlimited; that is why we may have her at Avengers: Secret Wars or Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.
Since Olsen enjoys her role in the MCU, it is just a matter of time before the Scarlet Witch returns. Whether she comes in as a hero, an antihero or somewhere in between, she will definitely be remembered as having a certain level of emotional richness and charge that she had when she was among the most popular characters in Marvel.
