Fantastic Four: Here's a ranking list of every movie ever made in the franchise

Fantastic Four went back in time with the latest Matt Shakman movie and finally made its entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is set in the 1960s but has more energy than the one that was made before this. With the new Reed Richards and crew, the latest film in the popular franchise is getting a tight grip in the MCU.

As of now, members of Marvel's first family have already been referenced in multiple projects, though not all of them from the 50s. For example, we got Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) from the Tim Story films in Deadpool & Wolverine (2024) and John Krasinski as Reed Richards from a different universe in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022).

They were all interesting to see in there. However, which of the movies based on Fantastic Four is best? That is what we are about to see in this list.

Fantastic Four movie ranking

5. Fantastic Four (2015)

This is the worst movie in the franchise we are talking about, and as of this writing, the film has even failed to register a double-digit score at Rotten Tomatoes. The worst part is, it had a $120 million budget, which was too high in 2015, and still failed to make an impact on the audiences in the theaters. The film was too dull and failed to do justice to what the comics are about. Add zero character development in it, and it becomes a bigger failure.

4. The Fantastic Four (1994)

We should have kept this as the worst movie in the franchise, but it was still better than the above, despite being a B-grade film. But it was a low-budget film, and when you are dealing with a superhero film, a mere $1 million budget isn't going to do any justice to it. As of this writing, the movie sits with a 33% score at Rotten Tomatoes.

3. Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007)

The sequel to the 2005 movie was average, with better VFX as compared to the previous movie, but with a weaker story. With this one, we got to see the Silver Surfer surfing through the skies for the first time in a live adaptation of the popular comic book. And there was the world-devouring Galactus, too, but we don't exactly get to see him.

2. Fantastic Four (2005)

Even though critics called this one a mediocre attempt at bringing Marvel's first family to the screen, it is, perhaps, the most accurate adaptation of the comic book on the screen. It was also nominated for the Best Science Fiction Film at the Saturn Awards, but didn't win.

From the film's story to its VFX, everything seems to be in line with what the audiences want, even though it wasn't set in modern times, as the other films in the franchise were. On top of that, it gave the fans some nostalgia for when Marvel used to deliver blockbusters and sort of restored the MCU to its former glory.
