The first look at Tom Holland as Spider-Man in Spider-Man: Brand New Day has been revealed.

On 1st August 2025, the official X account of the Spider-Man Movie (@SpiderManMovie) posted a short clip teasing the first look with the caption:

"Something brand new is coming..."

This was accompanied by a short clip showing glimpses of a Spider-Man suit. Turns out, the brand new thing hinted at was the first look at Tom Holland as Spider-Man in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day, set to be released on July 31, 2026.

More on Spider-Man: Brand New Day

The upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the fourth film in the MCU's Spider-Man film series, and it will be released five years after the third and latest one, Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021).

The first look at Tom Holland as Spider-Man in the upcoming film was shared just as filming began in Glasgow, Scotland, in August 2025. The video began with Holland dressed as Spider-Man, seeming to be warming up for something, walking backwards to the camera and asking:

"Are you ready?"

The caption for the reveal post is the same as what Holland said in the video, with the short addition of the release date, 31st July 2026. At first look, the suit Holland is wearing is quite different from his recent one. It looks more like the suit he wore in Spider-Man: No Way Home. While there is no explanation yet behind the change, there could be a significant reason.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is being produced collaboratively by Columbia Pictures, Marvel Studios, and Pascal Pictures, while Sony Pictures Releasing is the distributing company. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing the film, representing Marvel Studios and Pascal Pictures, respectively.

The film's cast includes Tom Holland as Peter Parker/Spider-Man, Zendaya as Michelle Jones-Watson, Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Michael Mando as Mac Gargan/Scorpion, who you might remember as the criminal Spider-Man had caught in 2017's Spider-Man: Homecoming.

John Bernthal is set to appear as Frank Castle/The Punisher in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. But as Kevin Feige told The Hollywood Reporter on July 20, 2025:

“When Punisher is in the Spider-Man movie, it’ll be a different tonality.”

This is quite a change from The Punisher's usual portrayal, who has been committing heinous actions throughout his MCU appearances, most recently, Daredevil: Born Again. While he fights the criminal underworld, his actions are not always morally correct or heroic. Thus, it will be interesting to see what the character brings to the upcoming film, where he cannot be portrayed as too violent.

Mark Ruffalo is set to appear as Bruce Banner/Hulk in the film. Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas are also part of the cast, but their roles are yet to be revealed. Charlie Cox is expected to appear as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, but that bit hasn't been confirmed by the creators yet.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is going to be released in theatres on July 31, 2026.
