Tahlia Barnett, popularly recognised by her stage name FKA Twigs, has dropped her new album, Eusexua Afterglow. It is a follow-up to her previously released album, Eusexua, which also received a nomination at the 2025 Mercury Prize Awards.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, FKA Twigs opened up about the new album and what it represents. She said,

"When I think about Eusexua, it’s just about being able to be, and accepting yourself, and accepting other people. We’re just like these beautiful lights. I always talk about the light inside my chest. That’s me. I’m not FKA Twigs, or I’m not even Tahlia. I’m a tiny light inside my chest, which is just filled with endless love and possibilities.”

According to a press release, Afterglow is also infused with techno like its predecessor; however, it's more "playful."

Every song ranked on FKA twigs's Eusexua Afterglow from best to worst

We are ranking the tracks of FKA Twigs's new album from best to worst:

1. Love Crimes

FKA Twigs' new album opens with a rave banger. She starts strong and is heavily driven by techno. As Rolling Stone describes it, she seems more "ferocious" right from the beginning in the new album.

2. Sushi

Sushi comes as a surprise and holds much more depth than its title. Perhaps the longest track on the album, it doesn't disappoint, holding the listener's attention until the very end. The track picks up a notch in the second half, and the intensity increases gradually. She sings,

"Sushi, got me feelin’ fish tonight/Roll me into the midnight”

3. Wild and Alone feat. Pink Pantheress

Illegal fame Pink Pantheress collaborates with FKA Twigs on Wild and Alone. The track is smooth, and it can be easy to miss the former's vocals as they completely align with the latter's. One fan (@tottox) on YouTube wrote,

"No cuz wdym I had to listen to it twice cuz I couldn't recognize Pink's voice in the second verse. THEM BOTH BLEND THEIR VOICE SO GOOD WTH"

4. HARD

Fast-paced, upbeat, and made for the dance floor, Hard displays Afterglow's playful vibe. If one is new to her music, perhaps this track describes what her work would look like.

5. Slushy

Slushy is unmissable on the tracklist, with users on YouTube describing it as having an "ethereal" touch. Twigs's vocals are much softer on this track, and the techno beats don't overpower it.

6. Touch a Girl, Predictable Girl

Touch A Girl has FKA Twigs' singing in the lower and deeper notes, with techno music creating a sensual ambience. It is one of the songs on the album that aligns with the theme of "endless possibilities". One fan (@user-wn3gp4kq1q) on YouTube wrote,

"Love how you challenge, shake and introduce new avenues of expression."

In contrast, Predictable Girl contrasts the softness of Touch A Girl, with many users noting that it is quite "unpredictable". However, fans expressed their disappointment with her for using AI in the music video.

8. Piece of Mine, Stereo Boy

Piece of Mine has an ASMR- tingling appeal, with FKA Twigs singing softly over the trance-like music. The album wraps up with Stereo Boy, with the instrumentation reminding users of 80s rock.

9. Lost All My Friends

Even with the same lyric on repeat, the track doesn't seem to get monotonous. She sings,

"lost all my friends in the club /then I lost my mind in the car / I don’t even remember who you are"

10. Cheap Hotel

FKA Twigs appears to champion storytelling, with multiple symbols and themes emerging in her music video. Released in September, Cheap Hotel became popular for its music video, with many describing her as "real" and compelling.
