The very fresh first look of Anthony Ippolito embodying Sylvester Stallone in I Play Rocky has been revealed, and we cannot keep calm!

Amazon MGM Studios, which is handling the distribution of the upcoming film, has revealed the official still of the actor in the role. The film is helmed by Peter Farrelly, who has previously directed films including Dumb and Dumber (1994), Fever Pitch (2005), The Three Stooges (2012), and many more.

This film follows the resilient journey of how Sylvester Stallone emerges to mark his iconic star status in Hollywood with a story that he has penned himself. The plot follows how he turns the story into one of the most iconic films, the 1976 film Rocky, where he himself plays the lead, Rocky Balboa.

Its synopsis goes as follows:

A struggling actor with a partially paralyzed face and a speech impediment writes a script that a big movie studio wants to buy, but he refuses to sell it unless he gets to play the lead. Turning down an offer of life-changing money, he instead works for pennies to get the movie made with himself in the starring role. The movie becomes the biggest box office hit of 1976, notching 10 Oscar nominations and winning Best Picture. The true story of the making of the iconic movie Rocky.

Anthony Ippolito's look as Sylvester Stallone in I Play Rocky evokes a mix of nostalgia and anticipation

Amazon MGM Studios has freshly dropped the first look of Anthony Ippolito's Sly Stallone avatar in I Play Rocky, and undoubtedly, it takes the anticipation several notches higher now. Ippolito's look is reminiscent of Sylvester Stallone in his prime, and one cannot ignore the striking resemblance between the actors. It goes without saying that the Purple Hearts actor could be the most fitting cast to play the role of the legendary star.

In the photo, we witness the 25-year-old actor, who most likely seems to be taking a run at the beach. He also seems to hold a black leash in one hand. In this look, Ippolito is wearing grey sweatpants and a grey T-shirt over a full-sleeve off-white tee. He completes the look with a black skullcap.

Along with Anthony Ippolito, I Play Rocky boasts a talented cast of actors, including Stephan James, who plays the role of the late actor Carl Weathers. We also have AnnaSophia Robb, who plays the role of Sasha Czack, the first wife of Sly Stallone. Matt Dillon also joins the cast, playing the role of Sylvester Stallone's father, Frank Stallone Sr.

Directed by John G. Avildsen, the Oscar-winning film Rocky was a gamechanger for Sly Stallone, who had written as well as starred in the film. Along with him starred Talia Shire, Carl Weathers, Burt Young, and many others. The film emerged to attain cult status and has played a significant role in the cultural fabric of the United States. The film then proceeded to develop into a whole franchise, with sequels and spin-off films taking place.
