Jurassic Park is a franchise that has been going on since the 1990s. The first film, directed by Steven Spielberg, showcased the re-emergence of dinosaurs. It was based on Michael Crichton's namesake novel. This was followed by multiple entries.
The franchise was later dubbed Jurassic World and went on to introduce new actors as years went by. But it's a bit of a task if someone is planning to watch every installment in order. So we have curated a list of the films in order, along with information on where you can watch them. Let us take a look at them.
Here's where to watch Jurassic Park films in order
Before we dive into where you can watch all the Jurassic Park films, let's look at the chronological order of all the titles:
- Jurassic Park - Released on June 11, 1993
- The Lost World: Jurassic Park - May 23, 1997
- Jurassic Park III - July 18, 2001
- Jurassic World - June 12, 2015
- Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - June 22, 2018
- Jurassic World Dominion - June 10, 2022
- Jurassic World Rebirth - July 2, 2025
The first film in the franchise that started everything, Jurassic Park, is currently streaming on Peacock. You can also buy or rent it on Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV. It revolves around a billionaire who is preparing to open his prehistoric theme park of dinosaurs. But his plans go south after the creatures break free. Its sequel, The Lost World, as well as Jurassic Park III, can also be enjoyed on Peacock.
After nearly fifteen years, the franchise saw a resurrection with Jurassic World, which came out in 2015. The film can be bought via Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. Its follow-up, Fallen Kingdom, is also available on the same platform, and so is Dominion. The most recent entry in the franchise, Jurassic World Rebirth, is slated to be released on July 2, 2025. It's unclear where the film will land once its theatrical run is over.
Rebirth marks the return of David Koepp to the franchise; he wrote the first two films. In an earlier interview with Variety, he said:
"The first two movies were two of my favorite experiences ever. And Steven [Speilberg] said, “What about starting over? Let’s try something all new.” I said, “Oh, that’s a cool idea. What if blah, blah, blah,” and then I threw an idea back. That’s it. It caught. You do that all the time with your friends and collaborators: throw ideas back and forth. And sometimes they catch, usually they don’t. There is pressure because it’s going to cost a lot of money and there are going to be big expectations and blah, blah, blah. But there was no pressure at first — just the pursuit of our ideas."
The film is directed by Gareth Edwards, who revealed that he was about to take a break to write his own film. But he changed his plans after the film was offered to him. Over the years, the storyline in the franchise has gone through several changes. So you can watch all of them chronologically before the latest film hits the big screen.
