"It was one of the last songs to make “Tycoon. But when we started messing with the beat. I was like, ‘This has got to be YG.'"

Ty Dolla $ign's latest album was released via Atlantic Records. The singer talked about the album in an exclusive interview with Billboard that was published on October 16, 2025, stating:

"A tycoon is a boss. It came from a Japanese word ‘tycoon,’ which means ‘great lord.’ It’s the same thing - great boss, the best at your craft. The top of your game, right? That’s what I feel like I’ve reached. There’s still heights I wanna reach, there’s still places I wanna go, there’s still more goals I have, but I’m there. I’m one of the biggest artists in the game."

Meanwhile, as per AP Entertainment, in a separate conversation, he said:

"I’m always loving something. It hasn’t all the way worked out for me yet.” Love, then, is still a constant source of inspiration - enriched by the song’s sample of Wayne Wonders’ 2002 reggae fusion track “No Letting Go." I just want people to feel inspired after they hear it. I want them to believe in themselves after they hear it."

Ty Dolla $ign's new album has a runtime of 41 minutes, per Apple Music. The album is his first release since he worked with Kanye West on their second collaborative album, Vultures 2, which was released on August 3, 2024. The singer's last solo effort before the new album was Featuring Ty Dolla $ign which was released in 2020.

Ty Dolla $ign has also talked about the potential release of Vultures 3, saying:

"There was a lot of music that was done. It could have been out at the time I feel like we made the best music that was out at the time. I feel like we went No. 1, and it was a successful project, and it was fun ... That was like a cool experience, to see that you could just do everything on your own time.”

Ty Dolla $ign, alongside mentioning that TYCOON was coming out, also mentioned Vultures 3 as an upcoming project back during the Paris Fashion Week in early 2025. The singer stated at that time that Bully was another one of his upcoming projects.
