George Clooney gives a hilarious idea of including the Louvre heist in Ocean's 14

Upon hearing news of the recent robbery that took place at the Louvre Museum in Paris, George Clooney shared some thoughts about it. And, it is absolutely hilarious!

At the AFI Fest Premiere of Clooney's upcoming film, Jay Kelly, the From Dawn Till Dusk star shared his thoughts with Variety about the heist incident. In fact, he made a connection with his Ocean's film franchise, particularly citing the upcoming project of the franchise, David Leitch's Ocean's 14. So jokingly, Clooney mentions the idea that this film could feature this particular theft incident, as he mentions:

“I think we should rob the Louvre.”

While speaking to Variety during the AFI premiere of Jay Kelly, George Clooney talks about the theft that recently took place at the Louvre Museum in Paris.

While he made lighthearted quips about the incident, Clooney does maintain the fact that the incident is, in fact,“terrible", as he defines it. In a playful banter, the Golden Globe-winning actor praises the fact that the robbers have skillfully performed the theft without being caught, as he says:

“I wonder if they’re going to catch these guys. They seem to have done a pretty good job at getting away with it.”

George Clooney also added a reference to his character in the Ocean's franchise, Danny Ocean, who is a thief as well, as he chuckles:

“If you’re a professional thief like I am, I was very proud of those guys.”

At the same event, Clooney spoke about the robbery incident with E! as well. In that interview too, he cited Ocean's 14 and made another hilarious statement by mentioning:

"They should actually use CGI and put us in the basket coming down of the Louvre."

He also added by stating his thoughts upon hearing about the news, as he said:

"I was amazed that it was in the middle of broad daylight. Insane, but you know, every place gets robbed, I guess."

The theft incident at Louvre took place on 19th October 2025. It is reported that a group of four had trespassed into the museum and robbed a total of eight pieces of French Crown Jewels. As reported by the BBC, the stolen jewels have been in existence since the 19th Century, and consist of two brooches, two necklaces, two tiaras and a single earring.

George Clooney stars in the forthcoming film, Ocean's 14, . Along with him, the OG stars of the 2001 film, Ocean's Eleven, including Don Cheadle, Matt Damon, Julia Roberts and Brad Pitt shall be coming back together for this film as well.

Now, in this recent conversation with Variety, Clooney also added further details about the film. He reveals that the script of the film is done, and now the focus is on its scheduling, as he says:

“The script is done and we’re in great shape. It’s just scheduling now.”
