Oldboy (2003) director Park Chan-wook's upcoming film No Other Choice got a trailer recently, and fans simply can't keep calm. The movie will star Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, and more. The black comedy film is about a man looking for work after getting fired from his long-running job.
The netizens were excited, and one of the fans thinks this is going to be the best film of this year.

The film doesn't have a release date yet, but it will be coming sometime in September. Neon will be distributing the movie in North America, while Mubi will do so for the United Kingdom. It will also be premiered in the 82nd Venice International Film Festival, which will begin on August 27, 2025.
Twitter (now X) was loaded with excited fans, too, where one said
"Woaah!! I'm stunned by this trailer only... K-Cinema finally is Coming Back.."
Another fan who loved the No Other Choice trailer said,
"OMG that trailer looks amazing"
And language wasn't even a barrier for fans, as was clear from this comment,
"I didn’t understand a single word in that trailer but I still want to see it"
No Other Choice trailer breakdown

The trailer begins with a big warehouse where Man-soo (Lee Byung-hun) is probably working. He is talking about layoffs, as can be understood from the subtitles. He says,
"In America, getting fired is called "getting the axe." Do you know what we say in Korea? We say, " It's your neck.""
In the next scene, it seems like the company got his "neck," as a close-up shows him tapping his head where his nerve has popped up like Vegeta in his Majin form. Later, we see him hugging his family, who he says support him with their heart.
However, there's a growing tension in the trailer. It seems like after Man-soo's layoff, he might be taking a path not so righteous. We see police investigating bullets, and later Man-soo is seen in a fight where he might be the one holding a gun.
The final scene in the No Other Choice trailer sees him hugging his family again, but that seems more like a dream. Maybe it's his life before he was laid off from his company.
The meaning of the film's title

The film's title was easy to interpret after reading the synopsis of the film,
"After being unemployed for several years, a man devises a unique plan to secure a new job: eliminate his competition."
Now we know that there's no other choice for Man-soo, as he is desperate to survive.
It is a strong message, especially for those who are stuck in this era where layoffs from companies have become normal. If you look at the charts from the past few years, you'll see that thousands of workers have suffered, especially in the technology sector.
