Guy Gardner's Green Lantern power ring receives a major upgrade for the latest Superman movie, and we finally get to see what it looks like outside the ring case.

Here's the picture:

It shows Guy Gardner's ring placed on a hand model, offering an idea of its intended use case. It comes nearly three months after photos of Gamespot's product started making rounds on the internet. The product shows a model of the ring similar to what Nathan Fillion wears in DCU's Superman movie.

Before Fillion, Matthew Settle played Guy Gardner in the 1997 TV movie, Justice League of America. Later, Diedrich Bader voiced Guy in Lego DC Comics Super Heroes: Justice League vs. Bizarro League. Besides them, the character has rarely been portrayed on screen. So, this will be the first time the fans can see this impulsive and aggressive Green Lantern flaunting his powers.

In the past, Ryan Reynolds played Hal Jordan, another Green Lantern, in the 2011 movie. However, unlike Guy Gardner, Hal is driven by his willpower and strategic thinking. So, Fillion gets to portray the character with fresh eyes in the latest chapter of the franchise. Apart from his enraged persona, the ring is gaining much traction from the fans, who started sharing their responses shortly after its release.

Fan reactions to Guy Gardner's Green Lantern Power Ring

The first teaser trailer for DCU's Superman dropped in December 2024 and gave a peek into many things that the movie has to offer. It briefly showed Lex Luthor, Metamorpho, Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific. Then, in the final moments, it also showed Green Lantern's Guy Gardner wielding his power ring. It lasted only a few seconds. So, the fans couldn't see what his power ring exactly looked like. However, a few months later, they got a look at its design.

Soon after, the fans started pouring their reactions on social media, sharing what they thought about the ring. Some people loved the design while others didn't like the overall look. In a similar Reddit thread, one user wrote,

"The metallic band reminds me a bit of the ring from the Ryan Reynolds movie. It looks pretty cool."

Other users were critical of the look of this ring. A user wrote,

"That's, definitely a Green Lantern ring. Not sure how I feel about it though? It looks, sorta off to me? I can't put my finger on it?"

Another user responded by saying,

"It’s cheap and that combined with the design likely causes the actual insignia itself to lack depth and gives it a “gummy bear” aesthetic. That’s what popped out to me. I’m sure the real one will look much better."

Some users also had specific insights about how it connects to Guy Gardner. One user wrote,

"I like the concept of having an emerald in the middle but the overall design doesn't really do it for me UNLESS this ring is specific to Guy Gardener in which case it works because it's kinda tacky, like Guy is."

Superman arrives in theaters on July 11, 2025.
