From the World of John Wick: Ballerina is almost here, where the action thriller franchise that brought about a revolution in the genre will see a shift in focus towards a new protagonist, Ana de Armas. The vibes will remain the same, though, for Keanu Reeves and Ian McShane will be back with their charm in the film Len Wiseman is directing.
Recently, a lead actress had a chat with Empire Magazine where she shared how excited the franchise's lead actor is about the film, who is all in for the spin-off's sequel. She told the publication that,
"He's very excited about this movie. Immediately when we reached out to him, he was on board and wanted to be in it. I've been in two previous films with Keanu, and I just didn't think he was gonna throw me on the floor this many times! It was a whole different environment to be in with him. On his last day, he was already telling Len ideas for the next one..."
It looks like Keanu is brimming with ideas. The actor isn't simply appearing in a supporting role alongside Armas. He is all set for the fifth John Wick film and an animated prequel focused on the "impossible task" that "laid the foundation" of where Viggo Tarasov's (Michael Nyqvist) criminal empire is.
That excitement is perhaps coming from the satisfaction of those painful John Wick scenes

It's not the jaw-dropping, guns-blazing, amazingly choreographed scenes we saw in the film that make it so real for the audience. It's how we see our lead protagonist going through the pain during every fighting scene in the franchise, whether it's shot in a New York City nightclub or the catacombs beneath Rome. That pain was real.
Just yesterday, Jeffrey Doe's Wick is Pain, a documentary including never-before-seen footage of the franchise, was released. In it, a stuntman part of the team, Jackson Spidell, says,
"When you see Keanu in pain on screen, it’s probably for real."
With high-octane action like that comes injuries, and not just pain, and the John Wick actor sustained them too. Not even someone like Tom Cruise can prevent something like that from happening when they are in their artistic flow.
How much more bone-crunching and flesh-splitting action is on the way in the franchise?

If we go by the confirmed projects other than Ballerina, John Wick 5, and that animated prequel we already mentioned, there's an untitled spin-off featuring Caine. Donnie Yen, whose character was introduced in the fourth film, will reprise his role.
But that bloody, bone-crunching train won't stop there. A barrage of ideas has surfaced. One of them is an unlikely collaboration between the Nobody and John Wick franchises. But mark the term 'unlikely' there. Derek Kolstad, the writer of the former, thinks they are very different franchises, so that could be one reason.
Ideas around The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) and Sofia (Halle Berry) spin-offs are in place, too, though we are yet to get any official word on them. Whether John Wick will return in any of these potential projects is unlikely, but he will be a recurring character in it, we hope.
