50 Cent has called out Diddy's PR amidst the controversy surrounding Sean Combs: The Reckoning. 50 Cent took to Instagram to call Diddy out, posting a picture of Juda Engelmayer (the publicist of convicted s*x offender Harvey Weinstein) with the caption:

"This is puffy’s crisis management PR he is saying very nasty things about me. I mean very nasty, he is calling me an adversary. I just didn’t want to go to his party’s LOL"

For context, 50 Cent is producing a documentary mini series on Diddy's Life titled Sean Combs: The Reckoning. The series was released by Netflix on December 2, 2025.

The documentary series has been condemned by Diddy's representatives, who have issued the following statement regarding it, which is here quoted via Variety's article on the matter on December 1, 2025:

"Netflix’s so-called ‘documentary’ is a shameful hit piece. Today’s GMA teaser confirms that Netflix relied on stolen footage that was never authorized for release. As Netflix and CEO Ted Sarandos know, Mr. Combs has been amassing footage since he was 19 to tell his own story, in his own way."

The statement continued:

"It is fundamentally unfair, and illegal, for Netflix to misappropriate that work. Netflix is plainly desperate to sensationalize every minute of Mr. Combs’s life, without regard for truth, in order to capitalize on a never-ending media frenzy."

The statement continued:

"If Netflix cared about truth or about Mr. Combs’s legal rights, it would not be ripping private footage out of context – including conversations with his lawyers that were never intended for public viewing. No rights in that material were ever transferred to Netflix or any third party."

Director Alexandria Stapleton has disputed the statement that Netflix and the team that is working on the show did not have permission to use footage. She stated in an interview with Tudum that was released on November 26, 2025:

"It came to us, we obtained the footage legally and have the necessary rights. One thing about Sean Combs is that he’s always filming himself, and it’s been an obsession throughout the decades. We also reached out to Sean Combs’ legal team for an interview and comment multiple times, but did not hear back."

Stapleton also stated in that interview that the documentary was conceptualized in part after she watched events surrounding Cassie Ventura's lawsuit against Sean Combs. Stapleton also stated that the documentary is actually about the pedestal people put celebrities and she hopes that it acts as a wake up call surrounding that phenomenon.

The documentary features footage shot with Diddy's knowledge in the six days leading up to his arrest by federal authorities in the US. The trailer for the documentary was released on December 1, 2025.
