In an interview with Vanity Fair, actor Scarlett Johansson revealed the reason why Black Widow's return in the MCU makes no sense.
While speaking to the outlet, Johansson talked about Black Widow's return by mentioning:
"..but what works about the character is that her story is complete."
The actor had essayed the role of Black Widow a.k.a. Natasha Romanoff in the MCU franchise. The character is concluded in the 2019 MCU film Avengers: Endgame, since Romanoff meets with death in the film.

While speaking to Vanity Fair, Scarlett Johansson explained why she feels Black Widow's possible return to the MCU franchise does not really make sense.
She mentioned the character's death, which makes her story come in full circle, as the actor explains:
“It would be very hard for me to understand in what capacity [returning] would make sense for me, for the character that I play,”
“I miss my buddies and really would love to be with them forever, but what works about the character is that her story is complete. I don’t want to mess with that. For fans too—it’s important for them.”
In the end of Avengers: Endgame, Natasha Romanov gives up her life in order to enable the Avengers to acquire the Soul Stone, as mentioned by Red Skull about the need of someone to give up their life to acquire it.
Black Widow's last appearance in the franchise was in the 2021 film, Black Widow, a prequel film that explores the backstory of Romanoff. Scarlett Johansson has appeared as the character since 2010, in Iron Man 2.
