Here Comes the Flood: Everything we know so far about the Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson film

An upcoming heist thriller will bring some top-notch talent to the audience. It's called Here Comes the Flood. Fernando Meirelles is directing the film, and Denzel Washington, Robert Pattinson, and Daisy Edgar-Jones are set to star in the film. Meirelles is also one of the producers alongside Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon.

Meirelles is known for directing films like The Constant Gardner (2005), City of God (2002), The Two Popes (2019), and more. He was also nominated for Best Director at the Oscars for his 2002 movie.

For co-producers, Simon Kinberg has given us a number of X-Men films as writer and producer. This includes X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), X-Men: First Class (2011), X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014), and more. His other works include Murder on the Orient Express (2017), The Martian (2015), and more. He's also a co-producer of Edgar Wright's upcoming film, The Running Man, starring Glen Powell, Michael Cera, Colman Domingo, and more.

The other co producer, Audrey Chon, has worked on projects like Oldboy (2013), Changeling (2008), Poltergeist (2015), and more.

What is Here Comes the Flood about?

There's no logline or something that can tell us about the plot of the story, but the Tudum article that brought us the news presents it like this:

"Here Comes the Flood is an unconventional heist movie about a bank guard, a teller, and a master thief in a deadly game of cons and double crosses."

Denzel Washington and Robert Pattinson have appeared in heist films before but never together. The former worked in Inside Man (2006), where he played Detective Keith Frazier. The latter was seen in a time heist film, Tenet (2020), directed by Christopher Nolan.

As of now, only the three actors mentioned in this article have been finalized but more will be announced. For now, we will take a closer look at these three actors appearing in the film.

Denzel Washington is already one of the finest actors out there, and The New York Times already named him the greatest actor of this century once. His awards cabinet holds a couple of Academy Awards, three Golden Globes, and a Tony Award. His The Equalizer trilogy is among his beloved movies among the fans but his roles in Training Day (2001) and Glory (1989) are what landed him the Oscars.

The Twilight Saga franchise is what comes to mind after hearing the name Robert Pattinson, who will tag along with Washington in Here Comes the Flood. He was once named one of the most influential people in the world by TIME magazine. We recently saw him in films like The Batman (2022) and Mickey 17 (2025).

Lastly, there's Daisy Edgar-Jones as the third confirmed member of Here Comes the Flood. She is a fresher in contrast to her co-actors and has appeared in films like On Swift Horses (2024), Twisters (2024), Where the Crawdads Sing (2022), and more.
