Andy Dick was found on the street after a possible drug overdose. In the viral video, his friends were seen trying to wake him up and calling an ambulance. On December 10, Andy talked about the overdose to TMZ, stating:

"Doesn't it look like I'm 100% fine?"

Andy shared that he saw a man on the street, close to his age, who had children. The man seemed really down, which made Andy sit beside him. He added:

"And then he whipped out. I'm sorry, but crack, and you know what? I might need a little bit of that. I wanted to see what he was doing. And also, I don't mind doing a little crack every now and then."

Fans of the comedian have been sending wishes and showing concern on his social media. As of now, he has not addressed his overdose on his social media.

Andy Dick's friend shares his side

Andy Dick's friend, who was present at the scene doing livestreaming, told the outlet:

"We were going out to hang out with Andy… had a whole entire day planned. And he got away. He got away from us for a few minutes. He did something that messed him up. I had to run and get Narcan. But it was a group effort of all our friends that, you know, saved him."

After the incident, a Los Angeles Fire Department representative gave a statement to People, saying:

"I can confirm that we did respond to the intersection of Highland and Yucca at the 7-Eleven at 3:14 p.m. for a 59-year-old male. But we did respond to that location for an overdose. He was not transported to the hospital."

The Los Angeles Police Department said a friend brought Andy back home, but they did not share the friend's name, keeping the details private.

Andy has been quite open about his struggles with addiction in the past. In The Artists Project LA YouTube video, uploaded in 2015, he said:

"The main thing that I’ve struggled with over the years, as an actor and really as a person, is the abuse of drugs and alcohol. Right now I’m doing phenomenally. I’m recovering; I’m in recovery. I have a lot of months behind me and hopefully many, many more years ahead of me of sobriety."

Andy Dick added:

"My main advice I give to people is keep going. Don’t give up if you fall off the horse. Get back on it and go for it, because if I can do it. Let me tell you something: you can do it."
