Carrie Underwood’s struggles

While Carrie Underwood is blessed with her two lovely sons, the musician has been open about her personal struggles and miscarriages. In 2018, while pregnant with her second son, Underwood spoke to CBS Sunday Morning, describing that she suffered a miscarriage in 2017. She shared the emotional story, saying,

“I'd kind of planned that 2017 was, you know, going to be the year that I work on new music, and I have a baby. We got pregnant early 2017, and didn't work out.”

Talking about how she suffered multiple miscarriages, Underwood continued,

“Yeah. It happens. And that was the thing, in the beginning it was like, 'Okay, God, we know this is, just wasn't your timing. And that is all right. We will bounce back and figure our way through it.' And got pregnant again in the spring, and it didn't work out…Got pregnant again, early 2018. Didn't work out. So, at that point, it was just kind of like, 'Okay, like, what's the deal? What is all of this?”

Underwood spoke about how her faith in God helped her through the difficult time. She shared the story of how she learned that she was pregnant with her second son. She said,

“Monday I went to the doctor to, like, confirm, another miscarriage. And they told me everything was great…And I was like, 'You heard me.' Not that He hasn't in the past. But maybe, I don't know, He heard me”

“For my body to not be doing something it was ‘supposed to do’ was a tough pill to swallow…It reminded me I’m not in control of everything.”

Carrie Underwood, who has won 8 Grammy awards, has finally found peace in her home life after her struggles. Her son Isaiah recorded his vocals for Underwood’s holiday album in 2020, according to People Magazine. Talking about the process that left the singer thoroughly emotional, Underwood said,

“I was laughing, and I was crying, and it was just very overwhelming in a good way. It's just very emotional.”

On her younger son Jacob’s first birthday, Underwood took to Instagram to share her gratitude. She wrote,

“I thank God for you each and every day. You are truly our miracle baby!!!”
