Cassidy Erin Gifford, daughter of former TODAY co-host Kathie Lee Gifford, has welcomed a new child. On Friday, June 6, 2025, Cassidy took to her official Instagram account to announce the birth of her baby girl.

“Rosie Mae Wierda! Born at 9:59 a.m. on 6/03/2025. You are a million prayers answered, Rosie girl. We love you so much. 1 Samuel 1:27,” the American actress wrote.

Along with the announcement, Cassidy shared two slides containing images. The first picture is a black-and-white photo of a smiling Cassidy cradling her baby bump. The second slide features the actress’s hand holding her baby’s hand as the infant grips her mother’s thumb.

After her daughter's announcement, Kathie Lee Gifford expressed her excitement about the birth of her granddaughter.

“I am overjoyed at the beautiful birth of my first granddaughter, Miss Rosie MAE. She is beyond gorgeous, just like her Mama, and we are praising God for the birth and the health of both Mama and baby,” Kathie said in a statement via TODAY.

Cassidy Erin Gifford got married to her husband, Ben Wierda, in June 2020 at a private wedding in Michigan. In 2023, the couple welcomed their first child, Finn, whom they welcomed in June 2023.

A few months ago, the young mum went on Jenna and Friends and spoke about motherhood and how it has changed her relationship with her mum.

“It fostered a different appreciation for that motherly love. You know you can hear about it; everyone tells you about it, but until it happens, you guys, it's just the most overwhelming, all-encompassing love. Every little thing. So, it's given me a lot of grace for my mum. Looking back on times when I might not have had the same amount for her, I understand that you love your child more than anything in the world. So thanks, Mum.”

Baby Rosie’s birth comes a few weeks after Kathie’s son Cody and wife Erika announced that they are expecting their third child. The couple shared the happy news via a video on their Instagram page, where they played with their two sons, two-year-old Frank and 17-month-old Ford. Erika captioned the post:

“Gifford, party of Cinco. Our little blessing on the way was prayed for, dreamed of, and is already so deeply loved. 20 weeks in, and we can’t wait to meet the newest member of our crew.”

Kathie Gifford has been a proud grandmother, always talking about how much she cares for her children and grandchildren. In June last year, Kathie spoke to People magazine about how proud she was to be a grandma.

“I had my children later in life, and I've certainly had my grandchildren later. It is exactly what everybody's always told me, which seems like such a cliché. But clichés — they're real. Because they're true. There is nothing like it in the whole world. To see my children, first of all, so in love with their spouses. I'm so grateful to God for that. They picked wisely. They're so in love, and it makes me so happy.”
