Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio's Karate Kid: Legends is finally reaching streaming services, as the latest film in the franchise is eyeing a Netflix release soon. The film became available for digital purchase and rental in early July, 2025 for $19.99, and was available on Amazon Prime Video, Fandango and Apple TV.
As of now, Karate Kid: Legends is all ready for a streaming release, and will be dropping on Netflix on 27 September, 2025. The previous installments of the franchise are also available on the same streaming giant, hence the choice of platform is not surprising.
According to Rotten Tomatoes, the official synopsis for the film reads,
"When kung fu prodigy Li Fong (Ben Wang) relocates to New York City with his mother to attend a prestigious new school, he finds solace in a new friendship with a classmate and her father. But his newfound peace is short-lived after he attracts unwanted attention from a formidable local karate champion. Driven by a desire to defend himself, Li embarks on a journey to enter the ultimate karate competition. Guided by the wisdom of his kung fu teacher, Mr. Han (Jackie Chan), and the legendary Karate Kid, Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), Li merges their unique styles to prepare for an epic martial arts showdown."
Plans for Netflix are available for $7.99 per month with ads, with the ad-free plan costing $17.99 per month. Both the plans only support two devices, with another plan at $24.99 being available for ad-free watching and four supported devices.

With Karate Kid: Legends, the franchise officially stepped into a new era with a martial arts drama that reunites fan-favorite stars Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio while introducing rising talent Ben Wang at the story's center. The film connects the worlds of the 2010 reboot and the beloved Cobra Kai series, giving fans an epic crossover they have waited for pretty long. Chan and Macchio's roles in the film are the major highlights, knowing as fans have waited for their return to the franchise for years.
The film follows the story of Li Wong, played by Ben Wang, a Kung Fu prodigy whose life turns upside down when his family moves from Beijing to New York. Disturbed by the loss of his older brother and burdened by his mom's wishes for him to leave Martial Arts behind, Li finds himself caught between grief, identity and survival.
Soon enough, problems arise as he clashes with local Karate champion Conor Day, and his quiet struggles explode into public conflict. Just as things start looking worse, we see the entry of two iconic characters: Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan, his former master and Daniel LaRusso, played by Ralph Macchio. Together, they guide Li through Kung Fu and Miyagi-do Karate, preparing him for the brutal Five Boroughs tournament.
Karate Kid: Legends premiered in Mexico City in early May, before opening in U.S. theaters on May 30 where it grossed $115 million worldwide. Reviews for the film have been mixed but it still served as an iconic project, thanks to the legacy stars and the nostalgia most fans felt for the original film.
Karate Kid: Legends will be available for streaming on Netflix from 27 September, 2025.
