"I had 0% involvement": Paris Jackson responds to Colman Domingo claiming daughter was "very helpful" in Michael Jackson biopic

Paris Jackson has publicly refuted Colman Domingo’s claims that she was “very helpful” in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic.

Taking to her Instagram stories on September 1, 2025, Jackson clarified that it was not true and she was not involved. She wrote in the post:

“[Tagged Colman Domingo] don’t be telling people I was “helpful” on the set of a movied I had 0% involvement in lol that is so weird.”

She added in the next story:

“I read one of the first drafts of the scripts and gave my notes about what was dishonest/didn’t sit right with me and when they didn’t address it I moved on with my life. Not my monkeys not my circus. God bless and God speed.”

This has sparked a debate online, with Paris emphasizing that her input was either exaggerated or misinterpreted. Domingo will be seen portraying the role of Joe Jackson, the father of Michael Jackson in the biopic, Michael.

What did Colman Domingo say about Michael Jackson’s daughter Paris Jackson?

According to a report in People Magazine, during an interview with the outlet at the amfAR benefit gala in Venice, Italy, on August 31, 2025, Colman Domingo talked about how Joe Jackson’s granddaughter and her brother, Prince Jackson, guided him for his role in the Michael Jackson biopic.

He said:

"They're very much in support of our film. I'm excited to be here at amfAR tonight with Paris. It feels like that's a nice way for us to be together."

He further added that Paris Jackson has been very helpful to him and referred to Prince as “the man of the film.”

Jackson’s nephew Jafar would be portraying the role of the King of Pop. In an exclusive interview with Variety, Domingo said:

“It’s exciting to do it with Jaafar. Jermaine Jackson’s son is playing Michael, and he is breathtaking, and I think Graham King, the producer, has assembled an incredible cast.”

In his interview with People Magazine in August 2025, Colman Domingo said that the “very profound and prominent family called the Jacksons” has been an inspiration for him. He further added:

“We would not have any of this music that we used to have great memories about, the moments, the big moments, that we all share, because of the Jackson family. And I'm not just saying just Michael — the entire Jackson family.”
