As per Koreaboo, syncopation refers to the technique of using weak beats to create tension and change in a rhythm. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the group talked about their future career and rebranding, with Minnie stating:

"We rebranded to start a new chapter for i-dle. Dropping the “G” was our way of saying we’re ready to show our real, unfiltered selves. We wanted to be just who we truly are — more honest, more confident, and more free. It’s a fresh start, and we’re excited for what’s ahead."

Shuhua later added:

"For the first time since our debut, all of us took part in writing lyrics and composition, which makes this album really special. With a mix of genres and styles, I think it’s the clearest reflection of who we are as artists right now."

Soyeon stated:

"We believe it’s important that we tell our own story in our own way. That’s what really shapes our identity as a team and makes us who we are. When we share our genuine experiences and emotions, it creates a deeper connection with our fans, and I think that’s why people love us and support us the way they do."

i-dle released their latest mini album We Are, on May 19, 2025. The mini album is the eighth mini album of the group and their first mini album release since I Sway was released in 2024. The mini album did well upon release, charting at the 2nd spot on the Korean album chart and going on to earn a platinum certification in Korea.

i-dle also released their second full-length studio album, 2, in 2024. The album's themes included female empowerment, destiny, love, and so on. It consisted of 8 tracks, some of which also went on to do well in the singles chart.
