I have been a massive Harry Potter fan since my initial days. The series is adapted from J.K. Rowling's namesake fantasy books, and it's one of the names that kids associated themselves till they became adults. The franchise features several films that consist of several characters that people have loved over the years. Some of the most popular ones include the namesake protagonist, Hermione, and Ron, as well as Dumbledore, among others.
However, amid a sea of names, there are certain characters that I believe are the most underrated in the entire franchise. So let us take a look at five of them.
5 Harry Potter characters that I believe are the most underrated
1) Cedric Diggory - Robert Pattinson played the role of Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Diggory is a student of Hufflepuff and also emerges as a champion in Hogwarts. Despite having a significant duration, the character is less talked about even among Potterheads. Pattinson went on to become a popular star, and despite that, the character seems to have been overlooked by the fans.

2) Barty Crouch Jr. - Another character from Goblet of Fire, Barty Crouch Jr., appears briefly in the film. The character had depth, which was mentioned in detail in the book. However, the film does not do justice as it only scratches the surface of his backstory. His time spent at Azkaban and how he used Winky the house elf are unexplored in the film. The book does more justice to this character than the films.
3) Harry Potter - I know it might feel like the weirdest entry in the list. But if you ask any Potterhead about their favorite character from the franchise. Chances are, they will name anyone and everywhere except Potter himself. He is the protagonist and gets all the attention in books and films. But fans seem to overlook him. Not me, he is one of my favorites.

4) Lavender Brown - Lavender Brown was the romantic interest of Ron in the films, but she is more than that in the books. Sadly, that is not explored by the makers. Brown was also close to Professor Trelawney and was reportedly a part of the Battle of Hogwarts, and was eventually targeted by Fenrir Greyback. She was a proper Gryffindor and, in my opinion, a very underrated character.
5) Fleur Delacour - In Goblet of Fire, Fleur proves that she is more than her good looks. She manages to do well in the TrwiWizard Tournament as a witch. She further appears in Bill's life as her romantic partner. The character also saves Harry multiple times because he had saved her sister once. These actions make her a credible and dependable character in the entire series of Harry Potter.
Some honorable mentions of more underrated characters include Arabella Figg, Regulus Black, and Poppy Pomfrey, among others. We hope that Potterheads will give their attention to the above-mentioned characters as they all have the charm and intention to get some limelight.
