Tyrese Gibson, the Fast and Furious actor and R&B singer, took to Instagram where he asked fans to help with connect with the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul. He mentioned that he made multiple attempts, but he hasn't been able to connect with her.
According to Tyrese's post, he mentioned that:
"I have something so so very special of all the years I've been knowing you l've never hit you like this. I have something so so very special for us."
A direct message to the Queen: Tyrese Gibson's full Instagram plea
Tyrese Gibson wrote the following in an emotional caption that was released with a photo of Mary J. Blige. He wrote:
"Can someone please help me to get a hold and reach Mary J. Blige? I've been trying to reach her for two weeks. I don't have a current cell number Email. Nothing on her. I really didn't want to post this, but l'm really trying to reach my Capricorn queen Mary J. Blige.!!! I have something so important that I need to get to her. Could someone please help me to track her down her cell her email her Manager anyone that's connected to Mary J. Blige I'm trying to reach her please please please thank you so much.!!!!!!"
Tyrese Gibson made a direct personal appeal to Blige at the end of the caption, saying:
"Dear Mary, if you can read this, I have something so so very special of all the years I've been knowing you l've never hit you like this. I have something so so very special for us. Oh my God please hit me back when you can!!"
He signed off with the caption:

Their complicated history: Viral photo op went wrong
Although Tyrese's newest appeal to reconnect seemed sincere. This isn't the first time that one of his exchanges with Mary J. Blige has already gone viral. Back in January 2021, at Blige's 50th birthday celebration, which was a night full of music, and celebration.
During the private party, Tyrese Gibson, who was then going through a public divorce, arrived at his friend's birthday party. Things took a turn when he casually leaned down to touch Blige's thigh as they were posing for a photo.
Blige not trying to make it look weird, said:
"Ayyyy Ayyyy N*****!"
and shoved his hands away as they continued to pose for the photos. Blige was quick to react, and the clip went viral back then. Tyrese has not publicly addressed the viral clip.
The photo op incident on Blige's birthday was not long after Blige became viral on Instagram with pictures of herself at the beach in a golden wrap-around bikini. The singer, who had just turned fifty, received accolades for her self-assurance and stunning appearance.
Now, in 2025, Tyrese Gibson appears to be making a comeback, but this time with a request. Tyrese has insisted that whatever he has in store for Mary J. Blige is meaningful. As he mentioned on Instagram:
"I have something so so very special of all the years."
As of now, the Grammy-winning artist hasn't responded to Tyrese Gibson's message.
