Ice Road: Vengeance, the sequel to the 2021 Liam Neeson film The Ice Road, which had a bad reception but a successful streaming run, is now streaming on Netflix. It had a limited theatrical release in June in the United States and was made available for video on demand the following month.
It is a PG-13 film, which means it isn't suitable for children under the age of 13. There is violence, strong language, mature themes, and more, which parents might not want their children to get into yet. People in their late teens can watch it, as they are better equipped mentally to understand what goes on in the movie.
Other than Liam Neeson, Ice Road: Vengeance stars Fan Bingbing, Bernard Curry, Geoff Morrell, and more in the film. It follows Mike, who is visiting Nepal to scatter the ashes of his brother, which we will discuss below.
What is Ice Road: Vengeance about?

Ice Road: Vengeance continues the story after the events of the 2021 movie, which saw Gurty McCann (Marcus Thomas), brother of Mike McCann (Neeson), die during their icy journey.
Now Mike is suffering from survivor's guilt and is visiting Nepal so that he can honor his brother's last wishes. He partners with a local Everest guide named Dhani and starts the journey, beginning in a bus called Kiwi Express. However, a threat follows, and a couple of mercenaries hijack it.
However, it has nothing to do with Mike. These mercenaries are after a local guy, Vijay (Saksham Sharma), who is trying to save his father, Ganesh (Shapoor Batliwalla). Earlier, Ganesh's father had opposed the construction of a dam, which Rudra Yash (Mahesh Jadu) has proposed. This results in the death of Ganesh's father in Ice Road: Vengeance, and now Vijay thinks that Ganesh might be the next victim of Rudra.
So now the film's protagonist, with some handy experience in such situations, decides to save Vijay. It is one successful attempt, and cops take it from there. However, the cops are on Rudra's payroll too, and they all find themselves in a building, which Mike investigates alongside his peers.
A lot of action awaits in the rest of Ice Road: Vengeance, but most importantly, Mike gets to honor his brother's wish to scatter his ashes in the Himalayas.
How did Gurty die?
In the first film, it is established that Gurty is an Iraq War veteran and is now suffering from PTSD. He has some cognitive disability, which also causes Mike to get involved in a fight when a trucker makes fun of Gurty.
That is what sets the stage for the rest of the film's plot, which sees them go on a job that is more of a rescue mission. They are hired alongside a couple of guys to save these miners stuck in a mine. It is during this when one of the guys tries to sabotage the mission. During a fight against him, Gurty dies from a falling truck.
