The film is gearing up for its streaming release. So let's explore when it will be out and on which platform.

When will In Whose Name? release?

In Whose Name? released on several VOD platforms like Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Fandango, and YouTube on December 13, 2025. Viewers across the globe can access the film via subscription or by renting it.

The film is produced by Nico Ballesteros, Simran A. Singh, Shy Ranje, and Jack M. Russell. Ballesteros is also the cinematographer and has edited the film with Jack M. Russell and Justin Staple. Leon Lacey has composed the score.

Ballesteros has covered six years of Kanye West in his film In Whose Name? It features Ye's marriage with Kim Kardashian, his anti-semitic outbursts in 2022, his failed 2020 run for president, and his struggles with his mental health.

Amy A. Singh and Nick Jarjour are serving as the executive producers, while Shy Ranje is the co-producer.

The makers had shot around 3000 hours of footage over a course of six years in the rapper's life. The film also examines West's successful business ventures and how they were affected by his public persona and outbursts. The 104-minute documentary film follows West from his hometown of Chicago to the White House, as well as meeting with Elon Musk.

In 2022, West's antisemitic outbursts led to several brands cancelling their sponsorship and partnership deals with him. He has also identified himself as a Nazi.

In an official statement, Ballesteros said that he started shooting In Whose Name? when he was just 18 years old.

“At just 18, I was barely out of high school when my life changed overnight, I went from a middle-class upbringing to flying on private jets, shadowing one of the most famous people alive. I had studied documentary filmmaking but didn’t yet have a subject. Ye became that subject. His world gave me both purpose and a space to develop my craft. In Whose Name is the culmination of that journey.”

He continued,

“I am humbled at the reception this movie has gotten from audiences, critics and my peers in the filmmaking community. By extending its reach beyond the theater, the film brings its exploration of American belief, power, and identity to a global audience, offering a deeper understanding of America’s contradictions while illuminating the life and legacy of one of the most iconic entertainers of our time.”

The film was released across 1000 screens on September 19, 2025. Upon release, it met with critical appreciation, with The Los Angeles Times naming it one of the best films of 2025.

In Whose Name? features the appearance of several celebrities, including Donald Trump, Chris Rock, Drake, Amber Rose, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and LeBron James, among others.
