In Your Dreams: Release date news, voice cast details and more about Netflix's upcoming animated musical fantasy comedy

Netflix's upcoming animated film, In Your Dreams, will be released on 14th November 2025.

This musical fantasy comedy is helmed by Alex Woo, and is also penned by him in collaboration with Erik Benson. The story had been conceived by Stanley Moore, along with Woo and Benson. The plot follows the adventures of a sibling duo, Stevie and Elliot, who enter an enchanting magical world of their dreams.

When is In Your Dreams releasing?

The film is releasing on the streaming platform Netflix on 14th November 2025. However, it will also be released in theaters briefly a week before its Netflix release, that is, on 7th November 2025.

This film is backed by Kuku Studios and Netflix Animation, with Gregg Taylor and Tim Hahn as producers. The musical score of the animated film is created by John Debney.

The film has an incredible voice cast, including Simu Liu, who has lent his voice for the role of the sibling duo's dad. We also have Craig Robinson, who will voice the character of Baloney Tony.

As per Netflix, upon Cristin Milioti joining the voice cast of the film, helmer Alex Woo heaped praises on the How I Met Your Mother star, mentioning:

“Cristin is an EGOT-level talent.”

“She can sing. She can act. I haven’t seen her dance, but I’m sure she could give Ginger Rogers a run for her money. You believe every performance Cristin gives, and that’s every director’s dream come true.”

What could be the plot of In Your Dreams?

The story explores the wholesome journey of a sibling duo, Stevie (12) and Elliot (8), who enter a fantastical world in a quest for Sandman. When the kids witness their parents' marriage falling apart, they look for Sandman to help them.

Its synopsis, as per IMDb, goes as follows:

"Stevie and her little brother Elliot journey into the wildly absurd landscape of their own dreams to ask the Sandman to grant them the perfect family."

As per Netflix, helmer Alex Woo looked back at a personal memory of his childhood in order to find inspiration for the film. He mentioned:

“One of my favorite things to do as a kid was to wake my brother up in the middle of the night and annoy him with accounts of my weird and crazy dreams.”

He continued:

“When I had the opportunity to make my first feature film, I knew exactly what it was going to be about."

Furthermore, Woo also expressed his vision in making In Your Dreams. He stated:

“When I started this film, I set out to tell a heartfelt story that explored the magical and often hilariously absurd world of dreams. What I didn’t expect was how memorable and emotional the performances were going to be. I guess that’s what happens when you’re lucky enough to have Simu Liu and Craig Robinson in your cast. Talk about a dream come true! But what I’m most excited for audiences to experience is Stevie and Elliot’s sibling story — the bickering, the bonding, and everything in between. It’s ultimately why we share our weird and crazy dreams.”
