The Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) has officially announced its list of nominees for the 2025 awards cycle. The organization has confirmed that winners will be officially announced on Monday, December 15, 2025.Notably, the IFJA shared that it considers films based on a chronological calendar that is determined by when screenings or screeners are made available for voting members. This year, One Battle After Another received the most nominations with 15 mentions at the Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) 2025 awards. Sinners followed with 11 nominations, and The Plague secured 10.The IFJA's voting process includes announcing a winner and a runner up for all competitive categories except the Edward Johnson Ott Hoosier Award. This category honors work that includes an Indiana connection and only releases one winner with no nominees. The association will also release a Top Ten Films list alongside the winners.IFJA was founded in 2009 by six Indiana journalists. The organizers issued an official press release to announce this year's nominees. It read:"The Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) is proud to announce nominees for its forthcoming 2025 awards with winners to be revealed on Monday, Dec. 15. “One Battle After Another” led the way with 15 nominations, followed by “Sinners” with 11 and “The Plague” with 10."It also added:"The IFJA considers films on a chronological calendar, determined by when screenings/screeners are made available to all voting members. The IFJA will determine a winner and runner-up in all categories with the exception of the Edward Johnson-Ott Hoosier Award. As a special award honoring a film, filmmaker, performer or industry professional with a strong Indiana connection, only the winner is announced. Nominees for this award are not released."The complete list of nominees, organized by category and alphabetical order, is detailed below.Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) 2025: Complete list of nomineesBest Film at the 2025 IFJA28 Years LaterBlack BagBob Trevino Likes ItBugoniaFrankensteinFriendshipHamnetJay KellyThe Life of ChuckMarty SupremeNo Other ChoiceOne Battle After AnotherThe Phoenician SchemeThe PlagueSinnersSplitsvilleSupermanTrain DreamsWake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out MysteryWeaponsBest Animated Film at the 2025 IFJAIn Your DreamsKPop Demon HuntersThe Legend of Hei 2Little Amélie or the Character of RainNe Zha 2Predator: Killer of KillersZootopia 2Best Foreign Language Film at the 2025 IFJACloudIt Was Just an AccidentLeft-Handed GirlNo Other ChoiceReflection in a Dead DiamondRental FamilyThe Secret AgentSentimental ValueUniversal LanguageThe Voice of Hind RajabBest Documentary at the 2025 IFJAAre We Good?Deaf President Now!Disposable HumanityGrand Theft HamletHacking at LeavesOrwell: 2+2=5PavementsThe Perfect NeighborThe Tenderness TourBest Original ScreenplayNoah Baumbach and Emily Mortimer: Jay KellyMary Bronstein: If I Had Legs I’d Kick YouRonald Bronstein and Josh Safdie: Marty SupremeRyan Coogler: SinnersMichael Angelo Covino and Kyle Marvin: SplitsvilleZach Cregger: WeaponsDavid Koepp: Black BagTracie Laymon: Bob Trevino Likes ItJafar Panahi: It Was Just an AccidentCharlie Polinger: The PlagueBest Adapted ScreenplayPaul Thomas Anderson: One Battle After AnotherClint Bentley and Greg Kwedar: Train DreamsGuillermo del Toro: FrankensteinMike Flanagan: The Life of ChuckAlex Garland: 28 Years LaterDan Gregor, Doug Mand, and Akiva Schaffer: The Naked GunJames Gunn: SupermanRian Johnson: Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out MysteryPark Chan wook, Lee Kyoung mi, Don McKellar and Lee Ja hye: No Other ChoiceWill Tracy: BugoniaBest DirectorPaul Thomas Anderson: One Battle After AnotherClint Bentley: Train DreamsRyan Coogler: SinnersMichael Angelo Covino: SplitsvilleZach Cregger: WeaponsJames Gunn: SupermanPark Chan wook: No Other ChoiceCharlie Polinger: The PlagueJosh Safdie: Marty SupremeSteven Soderbergh: Black BagBest Lead PerformanceEverett Blunck: The PlagueJessie Buckley: HamnetRose Byrne: If I Had Legs I’d Kick YouTimothée Chalamet: Marty SupremeDavid Corenswet: SupermanLeonardo DiCaprio: One Battle After AnotherJoel Edgerton: Train DreamsMichael Fassbender: Black BagBarbie Ferreira: Bob Trevino Likes ItEthan Hawke: Blue MoonMichael B.
