The Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) has officially announced its list of nominees for the 2025 awards cycle. The organization has confirmed that winners will be officially announced on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Notably, the IFJA shared that it considers films based on a chronological calendar that is determined by when screenings or screeners are made available for voting members.

This year, One Battle After Another received the most nominations with 15 mentions at the Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) 2025 awards. Sinners followed with 11 nominations, and The Plague secured 10.

The IFJA's voting process includes announcing a winner and a runner up for all competitive categories except the Edward Johnson Ott Hoosier Award. This category honors work that includes an Indiana connection and only releases one winner with no nominees. The association will also release a Top Ten Films list alongside the winners.

IFJA was founded in 2009 by six Indiana journalists. The organizers issued an official press release to announce this year's nominees. It read:

"The Indiana Film Journalists Association (IFJA) is proud to announce nominees for its forthcoming 2025 awards with winners to be revealed on Monday, Dec. 15. “One Battle After Another” led the way with 15 nominations, followed by “Sinners” with 11 and “The Plague” with 10."

It also added:

"The IFJA considers films on a chronological calendar, determined by when screenings/screeners are made available to all voting members. The IFJA will determine a winner and runner-up in all categories with the exception of the Edward Johnson-Ott Hoosier Award. As a special award honoring a film, filmmaker, performer or industry professional with a strong Indiana connection, only the winner is announced. Nominees for this award are not released."

The complete list of nominees, organized by category and alphabetical order, is detailed below.
