The legal battle between It Ends With Us co-stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni continues with significant developments as of August 2025. According to a report by The Independent, Lively secured her first lead role since her legal issues with Baldoni. On August 21, Lionsgate announced that she would be producing and starring in an “action romantic comedy” called The Survival List.

In the latest update, Blake Lively’s co-star, Isabela Ferrer, accused Baldoni of “harassing” her and trying to use his financial influence to control how she responds to Lively’s subpoena, according to a report in Variety. Ferrer portrayed a younger version of Lively’s character, Lily, in the Colleen Hoover book adaptation. Denying the harassment claims made by the 24-year-old, Baldoni’s lawyers stated in a letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman on August 18, 2025:

We write in response to Isabela Ferrer's opposition to the Wayfarer Parties' motion to serve her by alternative means. The opposition is primarily an inappropriate attack upon Mr. Baldoni and his counsel … and irrelevant to whether Ms. Ferrer should be served via alternative means.”

The legal team stated that they issued a subpoena to Ferrer to obtain “documents that she either neglected to produce or were not requested” by Lively’s team. They added that they were allegedly “ignored” by her, despite contacting her twice.

Baldoni’s legal team further argued that the Gossip Girl actor,

“should not be permitted to obtain discovery from Ms. Ferrer, while Ms. Ferrer and her counsel frustrate all effort by the Wayfarer Parties to obtain the discovery critical to the preparation of their defense.”

In 2024, Lively filed a complaint against Baldoni, accusing him of sexual harassment and creating a hostile work environment. In his response, the actor-director filed a defamation lawsuit against Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds. The case remains pending and is scheduled for trial in March 2026.
