According to Rolling Stone, Connie Francis is hospitalized as she deals with ongoing pain. In a Facebook post, she said she had undergone “a series of tests and examinations in intensive care” before being moved to a private room.

“I am back in hospital where I have been undergoing tests and checks to determine the cause(s) of the extreme pain I have been experiencing,” Francis shared.

Though the nature of her condition remains unclear, the situation appears serious enough to require intensive care. Francis had been set to appear on Cousin Brucie’s Independence Day radio broadcast, but those plans have now been put on hold.

“I had hoped to take part in Brucie’s show for Independence Day, having had to cancel a previous slot a few weeks ago when receiving treatment on my hip, sadly, I had to let him know that I again had to withdraw.” she revealed.

In her message, she also expressed her appreciation for her fans’ support, thanking them for their “kind thoughts, words, and prayers.” She continues to navigate this health challenge.

Connie Francis opens up about her lost romance with Bobby Darin:

Connie Francis’ early years in the spotlight saw her cross paths with a young Bobby Darin. Her relationship with Darin initially had nothing but friction, especially when it came to disagreements over song arrangements. Despite their early clashes, their professional relationship evolved into something far more personal.

The two exchanged love letters, and the idea of eloping even became a serious topic of discussion. But when her father discovered their plans, he took drastic action. In a report shared by Closer Weekly, she shed light on her incomplete love story.

“Bobby wanted to elope, but I knew my father would kill us both,” Connie admitted.

Though Francis feared her father’s wrath, Bobby Darin’s persistence never wavered. One night, Connie came home to find him standing there with packed suitcases.

“He got down on one knee and said, ‘OK, let’s go get ourselves married.’ I couldn’t because of fear of my dad,” she recalled.

But financial struggles also weighed heavily on Connie’s mind. Both were struggling artists, and the reality of their situation seemed daunting to her.

"We didn’t have money. We used to share an egg salad sandwich from a drugstore,” she said.

The drama escalated when Bobby appeared at The Jackie Gleason Show, where Connie was performing.

“My father had a pistol in his back pocket, My manager saw it and screamed, ‘Run, Bobby, Run.’” Connie recalled.

Bobby then fled through the studio, narrowly escaping. Despite Bobby’s attempts to reconnect with her, Connie Francis cut off all communication.

"I was scared something might happen to him, my dad was obsessed with me and who I could be with." she confessed.

Though both went on to other relationships, Connie Francis never forgot Bobby.

"I think of him every single day, I still play his music all the time.” she said.
