Veteran American actress Diane Ladd passed away at her home in Ojai, California, on November 3, 2025, at the age of 89. Her daughter and fellow actress Laura Dern confirmed the news in a statement to PEOPLE. “My amazing hero and my profound gift of a mother, Diane Ladd, passed with me beside her this morning, at her home in Ojai, California. She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and empathetic spirit that only dreams could have seemingly created. We were blessed to have her. She is flying with her angels now,” Laura said on Monday.Diane Ladd was not related to the late actor and producer, Alan Ladd. In fact, her birth name was Rose Diane Ladner, which she later changed to Diane Ladd during the course of her career.Her parents were Preston Paul Ladner and Mary Bernadette (Anderson) Ladner.
