Elaine Hendrix recently opened up about reuniting with Lindsay Lohan in Freakier Friday, which released in August 2025.

This marked their first on-screen collaboration since The Parent Trap. During an interview with People magazine at Dancing with the Stars Season 34 cast reveal event, Hendrix said:

“I hadn't seen her since she was a little girl. I hadn't seen her since The Parent Trap….so coming back together now, she was all grown up — and I feel like I've lived an entire lifetime since then!”

In The Parent Trap, Hendrix portrays the role of Meredith Blake, a publicist hoping to be the stepmother of Lohan’s character.

Her interview has brought her personal life to the spotlight. Hendrix is also an animal rights activist and founded The Pet Matchmaker, an organization that rescues animals. She is not married.

Elaine Hendrix’s real name is Katherine Elaine Hendrix. She was born on December 28, 1970, in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, to parents Thomas Hendrix Jr. and Mary Hendrix. Her siblings are David Maher and Stephanie Smith.

As per IMDb Hendrix attended Northside School of Performing Arts in Atlanta, Georgia. She started her career as a professional dancer before transitioning into modelling. She put an end to dancing after meeting an accident.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1992, Elaine Hendrix hired an agent and started working in commercials. In 1995, she landed a role in the Fox revival of Get Smart. Her notable work includes films such as The Parent Trap (1998), Romy and Michele’s High School Reunion (1997) and Tv series Dynasty (2019-2022).

Hendrix shares a close friendship with her The Parent Trap co-star Lisa Ann Walter. People magazine reported that they are best friends. In an interview with the outlet, Walter, while filming for an episode of Ancestry’s new YouTube series revisited the streets on Manhattan's Lower East Side.

While doing so, she discovered her friend, Hendrix's great-grandparents, lived just blocks away from her great-grandparents on N.Y.C.'s Elizabeth Street during the early 1900s. While speaking to the outlet, Hendrix told that her mom’s side of the family was of Italian descent who migrated to New York. She said:

“I knew that my mom's side of the family was Italian and had came in through New York, and several of my family members were later born in New York and grew up there. And at that time, it was a very small community, a very tight-knit community. The Italians all lived in one area.”

She added:

“So when Ancestry came back to me and said, 'You're never going to believe this' . . . I was like, 'Of course they did.' And we're speculating, but the chances are extraordinarily high that they knew each other.”
