South Korean-American broadcast journalist Eva Pilgrim was named as the new anchor of the syndicated news magazine Inside Edition last month, and her first broadcast of the CBS-led show took place on Monday, August 18, 2025. She succeeds Deborah Norville in the position, who hosted Inside Edition for the last three decades and ended her tenure in May.
The latest venture makes Pilgrim the fourth-ever anchor of the newsmagazine, joining David Frost and Bill O’Reilly. In an exclusive interview with People Magazine, she mentioned being “slightly floored,” adding it reminded her of her “first job” when her mother was still sending her money to help her with food and rent expenses.
“I think about the countless people who’ve poured into me and helped me get better at this to then get to this point. My mother, when I told her I was interviewing for this job, lost her mind. I watched ‘Inside Edition’ growing up. It was on in our house, but also in my first TV job, it was a show that came on between newscasts,” Eva stated.
She added that she was already feeling “overwhelmed” at the “weight” of the job at hand, as Inside Edition is a “legacy.” Meanwhile, the show’s executive producer Charles Lachman told Variety:
“She [Eva] definitely connects with our current viewer, and I think her appeal is such that she will be enticing to a new generation of viewers.”
Eva Pilgrim has been married to tech and media executive Ed Hartigan for the last five years, and they share a daughter named Ella, 3.
