Michael Schumacher, the F1 legend, is not dead. However, he has not made a public appearance after a 2013 skiing accident in the French Alps caused significant head damage and a brain injury. He was in a medically induced coma for several months after the accident.

Schumacher was paralyzed during the initial years of his recovery, and recovery has been very slow over the years. In 2023, Schumacher's manager, Jean Todt, provided an update regarding Schumacher's condition to the French newspaper, L’Equipe:

"Michael is here, so I don’t miss him. [But he] is simply not the Michael he used to be. He is different and is wonderfully guided by his wife and children who protect him. His life is different now and I have the privilege of sharing moments with him. That’s all there is to say. Unfortunately, fate struck him ten years ago. He is no longer the Michael we knew in Formula One."

Michael Schumacher's family has not shared any photos of him post his life threatening alpine accident. The family lives at their house in Geneva, and only close family members and doctors are allowed close contact with the F1 legend.
