Frank Somerville, the former KTVU anchor, has been arrested again in Oakland after an alleged physical altercation with one of his daughters.

According to a report in The Mercury News, officers were called about an altercation in the 1000 block of Arlington Avenue at approximately 5:45 p.m. They arrested the suspect on his arrival as they were talking to the victim.

Somerville was arrested on suspicion of battery with serious bodily injury. According to the Oakland police, he got into a “fight” with his 20-year-old daughter over financial issues. He was held in Santa Rita Jail till the morning of September 16, 2025, but was released at about 8:30 am.

This was his third arrest due to a dispute with his family. In June 2023, he was arrested twice within about 10 hours at his family’s home in Berkeley.

He was married to Donna Wright until May 2023; however, in 2024, Frank moved in with his partner of seven months, Elaine Coleman. She is Danish, and both of them were high school sweethearts, according to his Instagram post. However, they are not married.

On August 19, 2024, former KTVU anchor Frank Somerville took to his Instagram to introduce his current life partner, Elaine Coleman, to the world. In his post, he referred to his high school sweetheart as his soulmate. They met after getting divorced from their respective partners. He wrote in his post:

“I haven’t posted in a while because there have been major changes in my life. Great changes! I just moved in with Elaine Coleman. It’s the love story I always dreamed of and now it’s happening in real life.”

He added:

“We grew up not far from each other in Berkeley. We went out in high school. We always knew there was something there. But then college interrupted things. She got married. I got married. But now we’re both divorced. Last year we reunited for about 7 months. It was great, but I wasn’t ready. Now I am. This is the happiest I’ve been in years.”

Somerville further wrote that both of them are from Danish backgrounds and are left-handed. They share similar tastes in fitness and believe in a healthy diet. He added in his post that he is happy with his current life situation, and his ex-wife, TV producer Donna Wright, has also found a new partner.

Wright filed for divorce on January 6, 2022, citing “irreconcilable differences,” according to The New York Post. They had been married for 23 years. In the divorce documents, Wright listed the date of separation as June 19, 2020. Their divorce was finalized on May 1, 2023.

According to her LinkedIn, Wright has worked for NBC, CBS, History Channel, and HGTV. She shares two daughters with Frank Somerville. Her daughter, Callie, was adopted in 2004 when she was a baby.

In November 2023, Somerville celebrated her 19th adoption anniversary in an Instagram post. He wrote to his former wife:

Frank Somerville’s older daughter, Sydney Somerville, is his biological daughter with Donna Wright. She graduated from Northeastern University, according to his Instagram post. He has posted about both daughters several times on social media, expressing his profound love for them.
