Curious if M3GAN 2.0 has one last trick up its robotic sleeve after the credits roll? You're certainly not alone. Horror franchises have always used post-credits scenes and additions as a way to drop breadcrumbs for the franchise's next project. With the M3GAN franchise already becoming a big name in the horror genre, many have wondered if the film will open its doors to another sequel.

If you're wondering if M3GAN 2.0 foreshadows anything for its future in its post-credits scene, then we're here to lift the curtain: M3GAN 2.0 does not have a post-credits scene. The film ends right after the last scene and does not feature any mid-credits, end-credits, or post-credits scenes. This mirrors Gerard Johnstone's earlier decision not to have any loose ends hanging around after the last shot of M3GAN, which also didn't have any scenes after the credits roll.

As for the possibility of there being an M3GAN 3.0, there has not been any confirmation yet, although the team behind the franchise has talked about its possibility. Allison Williams, who stars as Gemma in the film and is also one of the executive producers for the film, has spoken about a third film in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, where she stated,

"We don’t want to presume anything, but I would say [there is] a lot [of forethought]. That’s all I’m going to say. We love to dream; that’s why we’re all in this business. We have big aspirations of big dreams, and I certainly don’t feel like I’m done making these movies with these people and this tonal landscape and the subject matter. So, yeah, I have been dreaming of a third, for sure."

M3GAN 2.0 returns as an upgrade to our previous robotic doll, only this time she's shinier, sharper, and a whole lot deadlier.

The sequel to the viral 2022 hit film turns the dials to a hundred when it comes to robotic horror and is a wonderful conversation starter to the ongoing debates and debacles surrounding artificial intelligence. Produced by Blumhouse and Atomic Monster and distributed by Universal Pictures, the film brings back Gerard Johnstone and writer Akela Cooper to the team as they bring back the iconic doll that could kill. If the first movie was about a rogue babysitter with Bluetooth, this one’s about a full-blown tech war.

Two years have passed since M3GAN last danced her way into our nightmares. Gemma, played by Allison Williams, now rebranded as a public-facing AI whistleblower, is trying to put the past behind her. Her niece Cady, played by Violet McGraw, is older, quieter, and still figuring out how to be a normal teen after having a homicidal android as a best friend. But just when things seem calm, a defense contractor swoops in, steals M3GAN’s original code, and uses it to build "Amelia," a government-issued, kill-on-command android played by Ivanna Sakhno.

So what does Gemma do? She brings M3GAN back. Only now, M3GAN’s smarter, faster, and loaded with upgrades. Not programmed to nurture, but to neutralize. And guess what? She’s got unfinished business.

The film brings back some members of the original cast, including Brian Jordan Alvarez and Jen Van Epps. There are also a few newcomers like Aristotle Athari, Timm Sharp, and Jemaine Clement, who are joining in the madness.

Early reviews declare it to be more about action, and less about horror, but M3GAN’s still got the glitchy charm and sinister smile that made her a phenomenon. Made on a budget of $25 million, it's definitely one of the must-watch horror films of the year and deserves your attention.

You can catch M3GAN 2.0 running in theaters.
