Rachel Brosnahan had Hollywood buzzing once again this year. Fresh off her role in The Amateur with Rami Malek, the actress has been gearing up for a blockbuster turn as Lois Lane in James Gunn’s Superman, starring opposite David Corenswet.
Away from the spotlight, Rachel Brosnahan has been quietly married to actor Jason Ralph. As per Style, Ralph earned his acting degree from Purchase College in New York in 2010 and stepped onto Broadway two years later in Peter and the Starcatcher. On screen, he was widely recognized for The Magicians, as well as his appearances in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, A Most Violent Year, and Netflix’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things.
The two met while filming the 2013 indie project I’m Obsessed with You (But You’ve Got to Leave Me Alone). Their bond grew both on and off set, with future collaborations including Manhattan and later seasons of Maisel. Rachel Brosnahan confirmed their secret marriage in 2019 at the SAG Awards, stating they had “been married for years.” She also thanked Ralph during her Golden Globe acceptance speech, saying,
“Jason, I love you. I wouldn’t be here at all without you. Thank you.”

Rachel Brosnahan explained why she keeps her marriage private

Rachel Brosnahan used the 2019 SAG Awards as an opportunity to confirm her marriage to actor Jason Ralph. While the couple had never publicly denied their relationship, they had chosen not to discuss it openly until that moment.
"I've been quite private about my personal life for a few reasons. The first being that it's just that: personal. Jason and I also noticed early on that, while we are both the leads of successful television series, he has almost never been asked about our relationship while I have been asked on almost every red carpet I have walked in the last two years. We both find this double standard problematic and frustrating and opted to redirect those conversations to our work." she explained.
Following her win for best actress in a comedy series, Brosnahan celebrated with a kiss from Ralph, marking a rare public display of affection between the two.
Rachel Brosnahan talks about preparing her audition with husband Jason Ralph for Superman

Rachel Brosnahan wasn’t on a red carpet or at an agent’s office when she landed the role of a lifetime, she was in a bathroom. The actress recalled finding out she had booked the role of Lois Lane while inside an Aritzia in SoHo.
“My phone rang, and it said 'James Gunn.' I don't know why he's listed, but he's listed. I was praying that the toilet didn’t flush behind me, but I didn’t want to miss the call,” she said.
The actress added,
“I picked up the phone and he just said, ‘How’d you like to be the next Lois Lane?’ I was very excited and then immediately nervous. I had big shoes to fill.”
That call came after she put together an audition tape with some unexpected help from home. She mentioned that she created that tape in her living room with her husband, giving credit to Jason Ralph for assisting with her audition. Then she added,
“He’s really confused about why he’s not playing Superman after his excellent off-camera reading.”
In a conversation with CBS Mornings, Rachel Brosnahan also shared insights into how Superman’s emotional depth would be portrayed in the upcoming film. She explained that the character’s moral core and public perception were central to the story.
"He (Superman) takes great pride in the role that he plays in society, in helping people, in what he can do to help people, So, he's a little bit befuddled by the idea that people are turning on him, and yeah, I love that you get to see that side of him in this film – that is not always so perfect for an invincible man." Brosnahan explained.
