Brady Corbet's 2024 epic period drama, The Brutalist, which won Adrien Brody his second Oscar, doesn't require the fans to stick to a seat in a theater where they can miss out on a scene while visiting outside to buy a bucket of popcorn. It is now available on HBO Max.

It runs in three parts, as the ones who already have seen it know: part one called 'The Enigma of Arrival,' part two called The Hard Core of Beauty, and finally an epilogue. Brody's not the only one for the Oscar in this movie; the film also landed Best Original Score and Best Cinematography awards at the 97th Academy Awards.

Alongside Adrien Brody, Guy Pearce (Memento, Iron Man 3), Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything, The Amazing Spider-Man 2), Stacy Martin (Vox Lux, High-Rise), and more also star in the film.

A closer look at HBO Max plans

Users can choose from three plans available for the streaming service. There's a basic plan with ads that costs $9.99 a month and $99.99 a year. In case you aren't up for ads while on the platform, you can choose between a standard ad-free plan or a premium ad-free plan. The former costs $16.99 monthly and $169.99 annually, while the latter costs $20.99 monthly and $209.99 annually.

If fans choose to go for an ad-based plan, they should know that it won't allow more than two devices concurrently on the same plan and restricts the video quality to 1080p resolution. Another thing to consider is that it won't let you download anything from the platform.

On the other hand, the ad-free plans allow up to four users while also giving the users a 4K resolution. On top of that, they can download anything with these plans.

We can compare HBO Max plans with other platforms too. However, we are talking about The Brutalist, which isn't available anywhere but here. So if you are in for the Brady Corbet movie, it is currently the only option you can go ahead with.

It may look like The Brutalist is based on a true story. It isn't. Adrien Brody did mention in this interview with NPR when discussing The Pianist, for which he picked up his first Oscar and is based on a true story, and his latest film. He said,

"Well, they both reference this time that has changed the shape and face of this world indelibly. And they both reference how intolerance and oppression and antisemitism and forces that are ugly exist and have deprived us of so much beauty in this world. This movie, "The Brutalist," is a fictional story."

The Brutalist tells the story of László Tóth, who Brody plays, who comes to the United States as an immigrant following the Holocaust. He is a gifted architect but struggles in a different country until he meets Harrison Lee Van Buren (Guy Pearce). Although the real struggle for him really begins from here only.

Pearce was nominated for an Oscar too, for Best Supporting Actor, but lost to Kieran Culkin, who won for A Real Pain.
