James Gunn teases a new Superman trailer that world doesn’t know about

That sneak peek of Superman we saw recently brought us some chills as the Fortress of Solitude emerged beneath the pure white snow. But James Gunn is hinting that there's more to come. The recent comment he made as a response to a fan is now hinting at another potential trailer of the upcoming film.

Gunn dropped an image showcasing him standing beside Edi Gathegi, who will appear as Mr. Terrific in the film. A user called @zane.lankford on Instagram asked if there's "trailer 2.5" on the way. To that, the director said,

"You haven’t even seen trailer 1.0 yet - only a teaser and a sneak peek! I can’t wait to show you guys the trailer!"

The film's teaser dropped just as 2024 came to an end, which gave us a glimpse of what we should be expecting from the first chapter in the Gods and Monsters saga. David Corenswet has replaced Henry Cavill in the titular role, which prompted fans to think of him as a fit for the role.

When should we expect to see the 'real' Superman trailer?

May has just begun, so that gives us over a couple of months for the film to hit the theaters. And now that we know there is potentially another trailer in line, it ideally should have arrived already. So we may see it dropping soon, most likely this month.

If we take a look at his last film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, he dropped the final trailer on February 13, 2023, around a couple of months before the film was released.

Before that, it was The Suicide Squad in 2021, whose trailer we got on March 26, and the film was released on July 30, 2021, in the UK and on August 5, 2021, in the United States. However, a couple more trailers were released, one in April and another in June of the same year.

Judging by this, we have to say that there might be more than a 'trailer 1.0' for Superman.

What's more interesting is that, if this fan hadn't commented on this, many might not even have realized that Superman doesn't have a 'proper' trailer yet. So we all need to thank Mr. Zane Lankford.

Who is joining the superhero other than Mr. Terrific?

After the glimpse of the life David Corenswet's character will be having, we first see a glimpse of Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner, aka Green Lantern, appearing at the 1:43 minute mark, probably shielding Superman from the public using his Power Ring after he has been humiliated by them.

Before this, the actor had appeared in two Guardians of the Galaxy films in a couple of different roles and The Suicide Squad.

Just after this scene, we see the Hawkgirl, whom Isabela Merced is playing. It's just a glimpse as she flies past the screen with her organic wings, which James Gunn confirmed in February when fans asked about it.

Lastly, Mr. Terrific appears at around the 2:00 minute mark, where a bunch of masked soldiers are firing at him.

After Superman, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, and Clayface will follow the following year. The Authority, The Brave and the Bold, and Swamp Thing are in line too, but there's still no release date set for them.
