But when love enters the picture, their robbery plans get shaken. Helmed by Michael Fimognari, the film stars Olivia Holt, Connor Swindells, Lucy Punch and Peter Serafinowicz.

Releasing on November 26, 2025, the film has received a lukewarm rating on IMDb, which is 5.8/10 and a score of 60% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Jingle Bell Heist age rating: Here's what you need to know before showing it to kids

In Jingle Bell Heist, Sophie, a retail worker, is striving to save her ailing mother, who is battling cancer. She works at a high-end departmental store named Sterling, where, out of desperate need for money, she steals.

However, the man who set up the cameras in the store, Nick, catches Sophie in the act. Driven by his own personal vendetta, Nick contacts Sophie to join him in a heist at the store. In the process, buried secrets come out in the open and a new romance blossoms.

So the core of the film is centered around robbery, and is filled with morally ambiguous characters. So perhaps this complexity could be difficult to follow for younger children.

The film also involves themes of complex romantic relationships, dysfunctional family dynamics, as well as a backstory of a child born out of wedlock.

As per IMDb, there is no gore, violence or a frightening scene in the film. There are only some goofy physical comedy falls here and there. There is also no scene bearing n*dity or explicit depiction of s*x. In terms of physical intimacy, there are moments of kissing scenes between adults. In terms of its language, the profanity level is mild.

As reported by Parental Previews, the film has a total of 10 medium-level swear words. It includes one impolite gesture and seven instances of expressions related to God. There is also a moment in the film when a character begins to utter the F-word, but is interrupted. In terms of alcohol use, we shall witness some scenes of drinking in a social setting. Some of them are also set in spaces such as bars.

As per the outlet, Jingle Bell Heist is given a rating of TV-14 by the MPAA. It is due to its mid-level profanity usage. So, going by everything mentioned, it is not the kind of intense film that is a complete 'no-no' for children. So it is safe to say that this film is suitable for teens aged 14 or above. But it is not recommended for any child younger than this age bracket.
