Jurassic World: Rebirth is absolutely crushing it at the global box office, inching closer to that jaw-dropping $800 million mark. As of August 2025, it’s already hauled in around $780 million worldwide, with $326 million from the US and a hefty $456 million from international fans roaring it on.

Directed by Gareth Edwards and starring Scarlett Johansson, the film stomped its way to a massive $147 million opening weekend, flexing as one of the biggest launches of the year. Despite mixed reviews, audiences have clearly bitten hard, pushing it into the top ranks as 2025’s fourth highest-grossing flick.

Universal isn’t slowing down either, dropping the movie early on digital platforms like Amazon Prime and Peacock to keep the momentum roaring. This savvy move might just be the final push that rockets Jurassic World: Rebirth over the $800 million finish line.

With dinosaurs, drama, and box office numbers this wild, Jurassic World: Rebirth is proving it’s got teeth and the hunger to stay king of the cinematic jungle this year.

Jurassic World: Rebirth stormed back into the spotlight, packing more bite and roar than ever before. Directed by Gareth Edwards and penned by David Koepp, the genius behind the original Jurassic Park scripts, this fourth Jurassic World installment and seventh in the franchise catapults us three years past Dominion, into a planet where dinosaurs cling desperately to the last livable equatorial pockets amid a hostile, changing climate.

Scarlett Johansson leads a daring team on a pulse-pounding quest to snatch biomaterial from the island’s most colossal prehistoric titans: the aquatic Mosasaurus, the towering Titanosaurus, and the sky-dominating Quetzalcoatlus. But this mission is a race against time to unlock a life-saving heart disease cure. Joining Johansson are Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis, and Rupert Friend as Martin Krebs.

Thrown into this prehistoric chaos is a stranded family fighting tooth and claw to survive, blurring the lines between savior and survivor. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars as the father, Reuben Delgado, while Luna Blaise and Audrina Miranda star as his daughters, Teresa Delgado and Isabella Delgado.

From the grotesque, six-limbed Distortus rex, an eerie blend of Alien and Star Wars monstrosities, to the chilling hybrid Mutadons, Jurassic World: Rebirth blurs the line between nature and nightmare. Industrial Light & Magic worked the magic behind the creatures, delivering jaw-dropping CGI marvels on a breakneck production schedule, with only a bit of animatronics to anchor the chaos in reality.

After a star-studded premiere in London’s Odeon Luxe Leicester Square on June 17, the film went into theaters worldwide on July 2, backed by Alexandre Desplat’s score recorded at Abbey Road and John Williams’s unforgettable themes.

Soon, the film will reach screens at home via Peacock and Amazon Prime Video, extending its dino dominion beyond the box office. Jurassic World: Rebirth is a raw, electrifying ride, packed with monstrous creatures, heart-pounding survival, and a story proving the dinosaur era is far from extinct.
