Superman is all set to kickstart the newly formed DC Universe. Written and directed by James Gunn, the film will be released theatrically on July 11, 2025, by Warner Bros Pictures after a premiere at the Cineworld Leicester Square. Here is the official synopsis, as per letterboxd:
Superman, a journalist in Metropolis, embarks on a journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent.
The film stars David Corenswet playing the titular superhero. In a recent interview, he spoke about his struggles with fitting into the costume and said:
"I got kind of claustrophobic in the suit".

David Corenswet recently spoke to People Magazine about his struggles with the Superman costume:
“It was quite snug because they had made it to my proportions when I screen-tested where I weighed about 195 pounds, and when I walked in for my first costume fitting, I weighed about a 235, 240 pounds."
The actor added:
“You hear actors who play superheroes talking about squeezing into the suits. I got kind of claustrophobic in the suit the first time just being constricted in all those places at the same time.”
He further said that the costume did not have a single zipper for him to go to the bathroom. Despite this, he said that he had never faced a problem. Corenswet showered praises on his dresser, Scott R. Hankins:
“He was always in my ear going, ‘Do you need a break? Do you need a break? Tell ’em you need a break and we can step you out. I’ll tell him it’s me.' He would make excuses for me if I needed and we got very good together at getting in and out of the suit, so he would do it quite quickly, and I could take breaks if I needed to over the course of a day.”
Superman is the maiden project of Chapter One: Gods and Monsters, which is a part of the DCU. The film is produced by James Gunn and Peter Safran. Its cast members are mentioned below:

It was quite snug because they had made it to my proportions when I screen-tested where I weighed about 195 pounds, and when I walked in for my first costume fitting, I weighed about a 235, 240 pounds.”
Over the years, around 11 actors have played the role of Superman, including Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain, and Henry Cavill.
